Hollow Knight Silksong has a ton of secrets for you to uncover, but one that may slip through is the secret area in Moss Grotto. This is a secret area you find at the very beginning of the game, and it is hidden in a very cheeky spot.
To add to this, this Moss Grotto secret area also has a hidden enemy you can face. The enemy can be a bit of a challenge, especially due to your lack of tools early on. How To Find the Secret Area in Moss Grotto
To find the Moss Grotto secret area, you’ll have to go to the very beginning of the game, right where you first spawned. Go up to the broken cage/cart, and instead of taking the usual left, take a right. It may seem like a dead end, but if you jump and move right, you’ll find a secret passageway.
However, this passageway has a dead end to the right. Instead of butting your head against the wall, jump to the top right corner of your screen to find another passageway. This passage will lead you to the hidden enemy.

How To Defeat the Secret Area Bug in Hollow Knight Silksong
Once you enter the secret passage, you’ll find a bug asleep. You can fight and defeat this bug, but doing so in the claustrophobic confines of this tunnel is easier said than done. First, land two to three hits on the bug to wake him up.
Once he’s awake, he will charge you. Quickly rush back the way you came to avoid the charging attack. Once he settles down, run back up and attack it once again. You’ll have to do this quite a few times to beat the creature. Defeating the creature will give you the Beast Shard item. Defeating this boss will require a few tries, especially since your health is so low this early on. Keep at it and you’ll beat the boss in no time.
