In this guide, we’ll explore how you can get your hands on the Vesticrest in Hollow Knight Silksong and why they are important.
Similar to the seven Crests, you can also unlock Vesticrest in Hollow Knight Silksong. The Vesticrest works a bit differently but can have a huge impact on your overall build. The game only offers two of these upgrades, and getting them will require some work and progression first. In the following guide, we’ll explore exactly how you can gain access to Vesticrests and how they help Hornet in her journey.
How To Unlock Vesticrest in Hollow Knight Silksong
To acquire the two Vesticrests, you’ll have to reach an NPC named Eva in Weavenest Atla. Besides the Vesticrest, Eva offers a bunch of game-changing upgrades, too. Here’s how you can reach her.
- Step 1: Defeat the Sister Splinter boss in Shellwood to acquire the Cling Grip ability.
- Step 2: Defeat the Widow boss in Bellhart to acquire the Needolin.
- Step 3: Head to Moss Grotto and proceed to the extreme right-hand side.
- Step 4: Play the Needolin just in front of a cocoon door here to unlock access to Weavenest Atla.
- Step 5: Once you enter the region, take the elevator down and keep heading right. Soon, you’ll find the NPC named Eva, who’s trapped inside a mechanism of some sort.
You can speak to Eva now, and she’ll give you one or both Vesticrests depending on whether you meet the upgrade requirements. The first is a Yellow Slot Vesticrest, while the second one is a Blue Slot Vesticrest. The following are the requirements you have to meet.

| Yellow Slot | Use at least three Memory Lockets. |
| Blue Slot | Unlocked at least 5 Crests and used at least 6 Memory Lockets. |
Keep in mind that if you want to grab both Vesticrests, you won’t be able to do so in Act 1 of the game. That’s because you can find only up to 4 Crests in the first act. So, you’ll have to grab either the Architect or Witch Crest in Act 2 before you can get the second Vesticrest.
Purpose of Vesticrest in Hollow Knight Silksong
The Vesticrests enable a permanent slot increase in your Crest. So, if you grab the Yellow Slot Vesticrest, all of your Crests will now have an additional permanent slot for a Yellow tool. Similarly, with the Blue Slot Vesticrest, all of your Crests will now permanently support slotting in an additional Blue tool. This means you can now effectively make your build more powerful in the game by adding one more support tool and one more utility tool to the mix.
