With that said, you might be curious about which version of the Silkshot is the best. You only have one Ruined Tool to repair, which means you can only have one of the three options. Where To Find the Ruined Tool in Hollow Knight Silksong?
You can find the Ruined Tool by heading to Weavenest Murglin. However, to reach this area, you need the Needolin Ancestral Art to open the door located southeast of Bilewater. Once you reach the area, you will find the Ruined Tool placed on a table. You’ll notice it immediately, as it will glow.
The Ruined Tool is just an ordinary item until you get it repaired. To do that, you have multiple options for who to approach for help.

How To Fix the Ruined Tool in Hollow Knight Silksong
Diving deep into the lore, the Ruined Tool is part of an ancient Weaver tech called a Silkshot. You can’t repair it by ordinary means. You will need to approach one of two NPCs who can help you fix it.
The first is Forge Daughter, who resides in the Deep Docks. The second is the Twelfth Architect, who can be found in the Underworks area. Alternatively, there is a special crafting table in Mount Fay that you can use to repair the item yourself.
Be careful when choosing how you repair the Ruined Tool. The path you take will determine which version of the Silkshot you receive.

Which Version Is the Best Silkshot in Hollow Knight Silksong?
While all types of Silkshot are quite powerful in Hollow Knight Silksong, we recommend going with the special crafting table route to get the original Silkshot. This version is more than just a weapon, as it also has practical uses, especially in boss fights. The original Weaver tech Silkshot fires a piercing beam and can hold eight rounds. The animation can also help Hornet stay suspended mid-air for a brief moment, making it perfect for dodging attacks.
The second option is the Forge Daughter’s Silkshot, which fires a single powerful projectile. This weapon can hold a total of 15 rounds. It can hold more ammo, but it doesn’t provide as much hangtime animation as the original version.
Last, but not least, the Architect’s Silkshot can fire three shots at once in a fan shape. It can hold 12 rounds, which is fewer than the one made by Forge Daughter. You are better off using a Threefold Pin if you want something similar to a shotgun spread weapon.
