Pokemon GO has finally announced Hoopa Unbound return during the season of Dual Destiny after more than two years of absence.
During the latest Dual Destiny season, Hoopa finally returns to Pokemon GO in its Unbound form. The Mischief Pokemon has been missing in action since 2022 when the Gen VI Legendary was available in Elite Raids. However, it is finally making its grand reappearance soon and will be available as a 5-star Raid Boss yet again.
As announced on their official post, Hoopa Unbound will be available in Pokemon GO 5-star Raids on February 14, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time. In this article, we will explore all the details surrounding Hoopa Unbound’s return to Pokemon GO.
Hoopa Unbound Returns in Pokemon GO 5-Star Raids
The season of Dual Destiny has seen a lot of returning Pokemon, including the mythical Victini, which was also missing in action for years. Hoopa, a Legendary Pokemon from Gen VI debuted in Pokemon GO in 2021 as a part of the Misunderstood Mischief Questline. Since then, it has appeared thrice in 5-star Elite Raids in October, November, and December of 2022.
After more than two years, the Djinn Pokemon returns as a 5-star Raid Boss (not an Elite Raid) in Pokemon GO. On February 14, 2025, Hoopa Unbound will appear on 5-star Raids more frequently from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time. During this while, the following bonuses will also be active:
- You can earn up to five additional Raid Passes by spinning Pokemon Gym Discs.
- Remote Raid Pass limit will increase from 5 to 20 from Friday, February 14, at 5:00 p.m. PST to Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. PST.

You will also be able to purchase a special event ticket for $5 (or equivalent regional pricing), which will have the following perks:
- Additional eight Raid Passes by spinning Pokemon Gym Discs.
- More Candy XL drops from Raids.
- 50% more EXP from Raids.
- 2x more Stardust from Raids.
During the last Hoopa Unbound raids, you could capture the legendary Pokemon in its Confined state, and you then needed 50 Hoopa Candy and 10,000 Stardust to change it to its Unbound form. It is unknown whether the same mechanic will be followed this time although it seems like a plausible scenario.
