Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is scheduled to be released in a few days on PC and PS5. PlayStation and developer Nixxes Software have already started detailing key information on the upcoming PS5 exclusive. The remaster essentially brings all the engine updates and features seen in the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, to Horizon Zero Dawn. The upcoming remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn is more in line with something like The Last of Us Part 1, instead of the traditional HD remasters. Furthermore, the remaster also comes with all the gameplay-related improvements seen in Horizon Forbidden West.

Nixxes Software has gone above and beyond with updating Horizon Zero Dawn. The developer even added new fully motion-captured cutscenes for some of the dialogue in the game. As the game draws close to its launch, Nixxes has finally revealed the official system requirements for the upcoming remaster, alongside other key details. Here’s everything you need to know about Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered’s official pre-load timings, file size, PC system requirements, and more.

When Can You Pre-Load Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered?

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is scheduled to be released on October 31, 2024. The game is currently available to pre-download on PS5. The download size is approximately 93.35 GB. On PC, the remaster is not yet available to pre-load. However, based on previous PlayStation PC releases, the PC pre-load for the upcoming remaster should go live roughly 24 hours prior to the official release. The remaster retails for $50 on PC and PSN. However, if you already own the PS4 version of Horizon Zero Dawn digitally on your Steam or PSN account, you can grab the remastered version for just $10.

It should be noted that players who own the disc (physical) edition of the PS4 version will have to wait till the release date to get the remastered upgrade.

What Are the PC System Requirements For Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered?

Unsurprisingly, as many players might’ve predicted, the upcoming remaster boasts significantly higher system requirements compared to the original Horizon Zero Dawn. The system requirements for the remaster are more or less in line with those of Horizon Forbidden West, with a few small differences. The remaster seems to be more heavy on VRAM, with the minimum VRAM requirement being 6 GB. In terms of CPU requirements, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is identical to Horizon Forbidden West. Even the storage requirement is roughly identical.
