To join a Remote Raid in Pokemon GO, you need to have Remote Raid Passes. You can directly buy them from an in-game shop or acquire them from any special event. However, the upper limit to have Remote Raid Passes is 3.

In this article, we will discuss how you can join and host a Remote Raid along with its features. Let’s dig in!

How To Join a Remote Raid

There are two ways in which you can join a Remote Raid.

  • Tap the ‘Nearby’ button on the bottom right of your screen.
  • Go to the Raid tab.
  • Click View to access.
  • Once the Raid is accessible for you, there will be a Pink button. Click it to join the Raid using a Remote Raid Pass.

Also, if you see any ongoing Raid Battle in the gym on the map, you can simply tap the gym icon to join the Raid. However, there is a catch here. If the Raid you are trying to join already has five Remote players, you will be added to a new Raid.

The second way to join a Remote raid is to accept a Remote Raid battle invitation from a friend. However, you can join a maximum of 5 Remote Raids in a day. Sometimes, during any special event, this upper limit can go up to 10.

Whether remote or in-person, the mechanics remain the same for Remote Raids. The Trainer follows the same battle format and rules. Select which Pokemon to use during the battle, just like you would if you were facing someone in person.

Remote players can invite nearby friends to join the Raid by sharing a special group code. This code appears as three Pokemon images in the top-right corner of the raid lobby. The Pokemon used by remote Trainers have a slightly reduced attack power compared to those used by in-person participants. This difference in attack strength may change temporarily during certain periods.

Completing a Raid with a Remote Raid Pass counts toward any raid-related achievements, such as research tasks and medals. As a Remote player, you will also benefit from bonuses. These include extra attack power and Premier Balls when raiding with Best Friends or with teammates.

How To Host a Remote Raid

To host a Remote Raid, you have to go to the location of the Pokemon gym. Once you start the Raid, you can invite friends from your list to join. You can use Campfire to host Remote Raids. Just select a Raid at a specific gym, and the app will find other players to join you.
