Learn about how long it will take you to beat Ghost of Yotei’s main story, finish its side missions, and then get the Platinum.
Ghost of Yotei’s runtime is similar to that of Ghost of Tsushima. Depending on the difficulty, you can complete the main story in around 30 hours. There are three chapters you need to complete, with the first being the longest one. Ghost of Yotei takes place in Ezo, some 300 years after the exploits of Jin Sakai on Tsushima Island. The protagonist this time is Atsu, a wandering mercenary, who returns to Ezo after 16 years to kill the Yotei Six (the Snake, Kitsune, Oni, Spider, Dragon, and Tiger).
The latter were responsible for the Night of the Burning Tree, where Atsu’s family was massacred and her home left to burn along with her. Unlike Ghost of Tsushima, Atsu has access to five primary melee weapons that she can quickly cycle between while tackling enemies, along with an arsenal of tools and ranged weaponry. The main story will end with the demise of Lord Saito, the final Yotei Six member, at the hands of Atsu, bringing an end to the Onryo’s quest for revenge.
So, how long should you set apart if you are going for a completionist run to pick up the elusive Platinum trophy in Ghost of Yotei? Let’s find out.
Ghost Of Yotei Completion Time Guide
The Ghost of Yotei’s runtime looks as follows:
- Main Story: 30 hours
- Main Story + side missions: 42 hours
- Completionist: 65 to 70 hours
How long it takes to beat Ghost of Yotei will significantly depend on which difficulty you choose to play the game in. A Casual approach will allow you to cut through enemies (even bosses) with ease. A Lethal difficulty level will have you calculate every move, offensive or defensive. Thankfully, Ghost of Yotei’s save game mechanics help out even if you die unexpectedly. Nevertheless, you should expect the spiritual sequel to run for a similar time as Ghost of Tsushima. The map size is also roughly equivalent for both games.
