Thomas Michael Simons, also known as TommyInnit or Tommy, is a renowned British Minecraft YouTuber and Twitch streamer. He has an abrasive but amusing persona and rose to prominence with his comedy. The 20-year-old is frequently referred to as the Dream SMP’s primary character since he participates in significant storyline points and drives the story along. Since joining, he has also helped the server grow by promoting new users.
TommyInnit began streaming on Twitch at the age of twelve and had an average of five to thirty viewers. He frequently streamed minigames from the popular Minecraft server Hypixel. One day, he raided another streamer Tubbo, who had no viewers. The two became close friends and began playing Hypixel, particularly Skyblock. Tommy began uploading videos to his YouTube account, TommyInnit, about a year into his streaming career. His channel gained popularity because of videos like “Every Hypixel YouTuber Ever,” and he soon reached 5,000 followers.
Thomas eventually started creating videos with his close friend Tubbo. This included successful Minecraft hacking videos, which helped Tommy reach nearly 250,000 subscribers. He then began creating videos based on Twitch feeds, such as “story time” movies about how he met prominent YouTubers and how he was once banned from Hypixel.
Simons joined the Dream SMP, a Minecraft server centered on roleplay that is operated by YouTuber Dream, on July 4, 2020. TommyInnit live streamed the Dream SMP finale, named The Dream SMP Finale, on January 20, 2021, and it peaked at over 650,000 viewers, giving it Twitch’s third-highest concurrent viewer livestream of all time, surpassing Ninja’s Fortnite collaboration with Drake.
TommyInnit And Dream Feud
Popular Minecraft creators TommyInnit and Dream are currently embroiled in a controversy. This all started on January 11, 2025, when Twitch streamers Felix “xQc” and TommyInnit appeared to trade jabs online. xQc later described him as someone who used to “d*ckride” Dream.
Dream quickly entered the conversation, posting a meme that many found insulting. The meme depicts a DreamSMP follower torn between “growing up” and becoming a disparaging nickname for TommyInnit supporters. This sparked strong criticism, with some accusing Dream of ableism and “alt-right” tendencies. Dream defended himself, citing his autism and pointing to unequal standards in the community.
“Super annoying having certain creators sh*t on me and my friends constantly when we never say anything back. You shouldn’t say the word (r*tarded) but I’m literally autistic and the whole internet loved everyone calling me slurs so obviously people are being disingenuous.”
TommyInnit has also been very active in this continuing feud. The streamer observed a subreddit post in which Dream labeled him as having “no backbone.” He also added that Dream should not call him “poor.” Additionally he uploaded a video titled “Dream” addressing the whole issue.
“You can call me anything, but do not call me poor, Dream.”
