Everything you need to know about the Enhanced Sentient Pest (Gnoster) in Elden Ring Nightreign, and how to access the Everdark Sovereign.

Enhanced Nightlords are easily the best aspect of Elden Ring Nightreign’s endgame, and this week, it’s Gnoster’s turn for the Everdark Sovereign. The Enhanced Sentient Pest, i.e., Gnoster, Wisdom of Night, is now live within Nightreign and offers a substantial bump in difficulty compared to the regular Gnoster.
The enhanced bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign are essentially buffed-up versions of the base game Nightlords. However, apart from the usual stat buffs, these empowered variants also come with completely new movesets and gimmicks (as in the case of the Sentient Pest).
To face these bosses, however, you first need to figure out how to access these new Expeditions, i.e., Everdark Sovereign. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the Enhanced Sentient Pest in Elden Ring Nightreign and how to access the new Expedition.
Requirements for the Enhanced Sentient Pest Expedition (Everdark Sovereign) in Elden Ring Nightreign

Before you can start the Enhanced Sentient Pest’s Everdark Sovereign, you must first defeat the regular Sentient Pest at least once. To do so, you also need to have defeated Tricephalos. After defeating Tricephalos, i.e., Gladius, Beast of Night, you gain access to all the other Expeditions in the game (except for Night Aspect).
At this point, you can tackle the Expeditions in whichever order you prefer. Since Nightreign doesn’t have a traditional progression system, you aren’t missing out on anything if you choose to tackle the Expeditions out of order.
Once you defeat the regular Sentient Pest, you will find the Everdark Sovereign unlocked within the Expeditions list. To summarize, here are the primary requirements for the Enhanced Sentient Pest Expedition:
- Defeat Tricephalos at least once and unlock the Sentient Pest Expedition.
- Defeat the regular Sentient Pest.
- Visit the Expeditions menu to select the Sentient Pest’s Everdark Sovereign.
Note that, similar to previous Everdark Sovereigns, the Enhanced Sentient Pest is only available for a week before it is replaced with a different Nightlord.
Best Nightfarers (Classes) for the Enhanced Sentient Pest

The encounter against the Enhanced Sentient Pest is largely similar to the regular Sentient Pest. As such, the same Nightfarers that are effective against the regular Gnoster are also a good choice for the empowered variant. You essentially want to pick between Wylder, Raider, Ironeye, Revenant, and Executor. Recluse can also work against this boss. However, unless you’re comfortable using Recluse, we don’t recommend picking her for this Nightlord. Duchess isn’t very effective, since you’ll have to juggle between targets constantly.
In terms of elements, you definitely want to bring Fire or Frost. Frost works wonders against Gnoster. However, if you don’t have access to a Frost Relic, you can use Fire to both stun and deal damage to the boss.
