While the overall gameplay loop of any battle remains the same, there are some unexpected surprises that might pop up to work in your favor. Ambushes in Dynasty Warriors Origins are a great way to suddenly catch the enemy off-guard and quickly turn the tide of a battle.

This is not an element that you can decide on during the Battle Preparation phase; it is more of a situational thing. If your ally is in the right position and is ready to attack, you will get a notification on your screen that says your ally is ready to Ambush. Once you see this, simply make your way to this ally and begin the attack together.
A successful ambush will temporarily lower your target enemy’s Courage, which is a huge advantage. This might not be very significant during small-scale battles. However, during battles where multiple allies are in multiple places, you will have to help all of them, and ambushes can be of great help then in Dynasty Warriors Origins.
