Chara, also known as the Cursed Child, is the first boss in Jump Showdown. She has 777 HP, has quick attacks, and her hitboxes are very large, making the fight tough if you’re not ready, but also easy if you know how to time your attacks. The battle has two phases, and learning her attack patterns is the best way to win.

Chara in Jump Showdown
The Cursed Child/ Chara appears both in public and private servers, spawning automatically at 17 minutes and 30 seconds into the round. You can also summon her instantly by talking to Jimpee in the boss arena and replying “yes, sir,” though this costs 499 R$. Keep in mind, she won’t spawn in private servers if you’ve used PS+ commands.
She has two phases: phase one starts at full HP, and phase two begins when she drops below 450 HP. Defeating her rewards two exclusive emotes, plus a one-in-three chance to unlock the playable Cursed Child.
Move Set
Phase One: From the start until 450 HP:
- Onslaught – A fast melee rush.
- Lethal Wound – A sliding attack used at mid-range.
- Blood Mary – A quick strike at close range.
- Fight – Triggered after three M1 hits; deals 22 damage (instead of 12 for the player version).
Phase Two: Below 450 HP:
- All phase one moves.
- Fifth Move [1] – A new slash attack used aggressively after closing distance or following an evasive.
Why Gojo Works Well
Gojo’s kit gives him an edge in this fight:
- High burst damage: “Four” can deal around 100 HP instantly.
- Grab moves: Great for canceling Chara’s skills, including her phase two slash.
- Awakening synergy: Wait until low HP to activate, then burst her down and aim for a Hollow Nuke.
Core Strategies
- Watch the Opening Slide: Every time you engage, Chara starts with a slide. This is your safest punish window, but don’t overextend, or she’ll catch you with her massive hitboxes.
- Solo for Predictability: Fighting her alone makes her AI easier to read. Avoid long combos early on, she uses evasive immediately when available.
- Control Distance:
- At mid-range, expect a slide. Side-dash to avoid it and punish at the end.
- If slide is on cooldown, she’ll dash left to flank, block it.
- At close range, prepare for Blood Mary or Onslaught.
- Interrupt with Skills: Certain moves can’t be interrupted with M1s but can be canceled with skills. This is vital in phase two.
- Adapt in Phase Two: When she drops below 450 HP, her big slash comes out fast, too quick to simply walk back from. Dash away or sidestep to avoid it, then counter.
Extra Tips
- Save awakening for when you’re low HP, then burst her down.
- Don’t save your ultimate between lives, use it and rebuild it mid-fight.
- Never try to juggle her; she recovers and punishes instantly.
- Predict her evasions; she always uses them as soon as they’re ready.
Beating Chara is about patience, spacing, and smart punishes. Learn her opener, fight alone when possible, and use skills over basic attacks to break her momentum. With enough practice, and maybe some help from Gojo’s burst, you’ll take her down and possibly unlock the Cursed Child for yourself.
