Season 15 of Sea of Thieves added a bunch of new things and activities to the game. One of them is Treasured Fish, which you will have to collect if you’ve joined Hunter’s Call. You can then sell these underwater critters for a considerable profit too. In this guide, we’ll go over how you can catch Treasured Fish in Sea of Thieves and how you can maximize your gains from these activities.

Before you can catch Treasured Fish, you need to become a member of the Hunter’s Call group. From their quest table, you can accept fishing voyages, where the goal is to capture these particular fish. While the first voyage is open from the moment you join the trading company, other, longer voyages become accessible as you rank up your reputation with the group.

Now let’s take a step-by-step look at how you have to pursue the quest.

  • Step 1: You can accept the Fishing Voyage after your crew members vote for it. So, make sure to conduct this vote.
  • Step 2: After accepting the quest, you will receive a map. Open the map and follow its directions to reach the specific location of the Treasured Fish.
  • Step 3: Look at the water in this location to discover a Treasured Fish shoal. Each shoal will have three such fish to catch. As you unlock more Fishing Voyages for the Hunter’s Call, the quests will have multiple shoals for you to clear. However, the first one has only one shoal and three Treasured Fish.
  • Step 4: Use a fishing rod to drop a line into the water. You don’t need any bait to catch Treasured Fish, much like while getting fish bones in Sea of Thieves. Wait for a while until a fish gets caught in the line.
  • Step 5: Avoid reeling in the fish at this moment and simply pull the rod in the opposite direction of the fish’s movement. Continue doing this until the fish tires.
  • Step 6: Start reeling but stop as soon as the fish puts up a fight. Then, when the fighting stops, continue reeling the catch in further until it reaches your hands.

A few things to remember here are that you can’t scare the Treasured Fish in Sea of Thieves. So, approach with your ship as close to the shoal as you can. You can also use a nearby island to catch the fish. However, don’t use anything other than the fishing rod. It is the only equipment that can catch Treasured Fish. Also, you can sell the Treasured Fish at any time you wish. However, to complete the voyages, you need to catch all of the fish that the specific quest spawns.

Tips for Selling Treasured Fish

You can sell the Treasured Fish you catch to the Hunter’s Call representative back at your outpost. While the standard value for these fish is decent, you can get more gold from them by following one easy trick. If you’re Rank 15 or more with this particular trading company, you can buy their Emissary Flag. Raise this Emissary Flag before selling them the Treasured Fish to gain a massive bonus to your gold and reputation earnings from completing the quest.

You can improve these rewards even further by upgrading the Emissary Flag. Complete the fishing voyages for the Hunter’s Call a few times to get a Grade 4 or Grade 5 Emissary Flag.

However, there is a major drawback to raising any Emissary Flag in the game. Players with the Reaper’s Bones can discover your location on the map and attack you. So, watch your back at all times.
