The Slormancer is a fast-paced, 2D dungeon crawler ARPG that allows you to choose between three classes when you begin the game. The Knight is a tanky brawler, the Huntress is a precision damage dealer, and the Mage uses spells and inflicts status effects.

Each class has a distinct playstyle, and you may want to try playing with all of them before deciding which one you’ll complete the game with. Fortunately, even after choosing your class at the beginning of the game, you can change between the three soon after completing the first mission.

To change your class/character in The Slormancer, you need to unlock them and speak to the character you want to choose in the town. Upon completing the first main mission in the game, you can begin unlocking the characters.

Head to the Graveyard map area. There will be two level one side quests there. Complete the optional quests to unlock the other two classes/characters. It may take you a few hours to reach this point after beginning a new game. Once you complete the side quests, head back to town, your central hub area, to find the unlocked characters and speak with them.

Knight

The knight is found in the docks area. He is located south of the Mage Academy, which can be identified with a red icon on the minimap. Switch to the knight to try a close-quarters fighter with the Fury mechanic. While the class fares well in melee, it is limited in versatility by its slow speed.

Huntress

The Huntress hangs out near the center of town. Go to the Slormitologist, which is marked with a green icon, and head east to find the Huntress. Choose the Huntress to experience a more skill-based playstyle that rewards accuracy and punishes slip-ups.

Mage

Find the Mage character just south of the Blacksmith. The Blacksmith is easily identifiable on the map with its blue icon. Switching to the Mage provides a vast shift away from the Knight’s and Huntress’ playstyles as you manage spell effects, mana, and distance.
