The Ground Control mission in Black Ops 6 doesn’t put you in the shoes of Russell Adler but lets you go on a ruthless killing spree with him. You return to Kuwait after Adler finally tracks down the only lead to reach Matvey Gusev.

He is responsible for making the Cradle bioweapon a reality. Case is sent to accompany Russell Adler and Lawrence Sims as they find and interrogate Gusev. The mission is fast-paced with no room for stealth. So, keep grabbing ammo and weapons because you will run out of them often.

Establishing Ground Control During the Mission

The helicopter pilot will drop you near an airport terminal. Sims advises you to prioritize morality, unlike Adler who will continue being ruthless. You will then be ambushed by some enemies. Use your sniper rifle to first take out the two mortar teams on the top platform. One is out in the open, and one is behind a truck. So, you have to flank them from a different spot. Head right for the same.

Once done, kill all the snipers before eliminating the other enemies to proceed safely. Head to the nearby shed to grab ammo and equipment. The snipers will come back again, so deal with them quickly.

After establishing “ground control” here, head inside the building. Sims suggests taking things slow because of the sheer number of Pantheon soldiers in there, but Adler doesn’t listen and opens fire. Return the fire and clear the room. A shotgunner will enter with many other Pantheon soldiers as you are trying to proceed. Eliminate him and some of his squad members to make them retreat. Let your teammates handle them for a while so you can take a backseat and crack a nearby secret safe (we will explore it in detail below).

The mission is pretty straightforward. There are many elite armored enemies you will face. So, be stocked up on armor plates, ammo, and lethal and tactical equipment. When you reach the designated plane, you find out it is a decoy. Now, do as Adler says and keep shooting and running. Cut through the chaotic battlefield, slaying enemies on your way. You will soon encounter a tank. Enter it and tear through the airport terminal.

In the end, Gusev’s plane will be seen taking off at a distance. Shoot with your tank to complete the objective. You now have to interrogate him to end the mission with a cutscene.

After clearing the room filled with Pantheon soldiers in the beginning, come to the location shown in the image above. Let Adler and Sims handle the reinforcements for a while. Behind the counter in the front is the radio that you need to tune into. It will give you the codes to the safe. The room on the right side of the player (behind the vending machines) contains the safe. Just enter the room and head to the last wall to access the wall-mounted safe and enter the correct code.

Complete the listed challenge of this mission, called No Smoking, by killing 10 enemies with a Dragon’s Breath Shotgun in a single playthrough of Ground Control. Ending the mission will reward you with a Sticker that can be used in the multiplayer mode.

The mission will end after an interrogation scene. You won’t be back at The Rook because it directly ties into the next mission, Under The Radar.
