Finding the Molten Vault
The Treasures of Utzaal side quest is started by talking with Oswald at the Ziggurat Encampment town. Your goal is to find and enter the Molten Vault in The Drowned City, which is not an easy task. Since the maps are randomly generated, we can’t help you with the exact location of the Molten Vault entrance.
You are left on your own to find the vault. However, we can give you a tip on finding the vault. Look all around the outer edges of the area until you see a little blue portal. Once you find the portal, interact with it to summon Oswald.
Defeating Mektul the Forgemaster
Enter the Molten Vault, which can be found right in front of the portal. Your task is to clear the Molten Vault or to eliminate the Mektul the Forgemaster (to be precise). You won’t have much trouble locating the fire demon Mektul, as you will hear his forging sound echoing all over the vault, which leads your way to him.
Mektul can be found near a dam of molten lava. During the fight, the boss opens the dam letting all the molten lava gushing towards you and fills the way. You need to defeat him quickly unless you want to melt alive by the lava. The best way to fight this boss is to use ranged attacks and lure him out of the lava. Avoid his special attacks by observing the visual clues and the lava at all costs.
Bringing the Hammer to Oswald
Upon defeating the Forgemaster, he will drop several rewards, and the Hammer of Kamasa should be your priority. Get the hammer and head back to Ziggurat Encampment. Then locate Oswald and interact with him to end the Treasures of Utzaal side quest. You will get an Uncut Skill Gem as the reward for the quest completion, which allows you to create a new skill gem or level up an existing one.
