Arlecchino the Blood Artist is arguably the hardest boss not only in Overture but in the entirety of Lies of P. The DLC is already filled with some of the toughest enemy and boss encounters, like Markiona, Puppeteer of Death, and Premetamorphic Green Hunter. However, even among those difficult encounters, nothing tops the final boss of Overture, Arlecchino. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Arlecchino being a difficult boss makes sense both in terms of the DLC’s progression and the narrative.

Arlecchino was the very first puppet to be affected by the “puppet frenzy.” In fact, it was such a powerful puppet that it was not only able to overpower Romeo but also go toe-to-toe with the Legendary Stalker, Lea.

The character’s power and bloodlust are perfectly represented in-game through the cutscenes as well as the boss fight itself. Thankfully, there are ways to make the boss fight significantly easier with specific builds and weapons. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat Arlecchino the Blood Artist in Lies of P Overture.

Overview of Arlecchino the Blood Artist in Lies of P Overture

Arlecchino the Blood Artist is the true final boss of Lies of P Overture, and as such, it is quite challenging. It is also the only boss in the DLC with two full health bars and completely different movesets across both phases. The first phase is quite easy compared to the second. However, it’s still quite difficult if you’re not well-versed in the game’s parry mechanics. Much like Laxasia the Complete or the Nameless Puppet, Arlecchino is an incredibly agile enemy.

Most of Arlecchino’s attacks consist of multi-hit combos that aren’t particularly easy to dodge. Instead, the boss’s moveset incentivizes parrying and the use of Fabled Arts.

That said, the boss is still a puppet enemy type, and as such, it shares similar weaknesses with the King of Puppets or the Nameless Puppet. The best option against the boss is using a weapon with Shock elemental affinity. Furthermore, it’s quite easy to break the boss’s poise with the right set of Amulets and Legion Arms. For instance, the Puppet String Legion Arm works wonders against Arlecchino. Additionally, you can make the boss fight significantly easier with an Advance build and the Electric Coil Stick weapon.

For Arlecchino, we highly recommend switching to an Advance or a Technique build. We tested the boss with two weapons: the Electric Coil Stick and Arche’s Guardian Sword. Both these weapons, in conjunction with an Advance build, absolutely demolished Arlecchino the Blood Artist. You can also use a Technique build to defeat the boss.

However, we found that having Advance-scaling and Shock is the best way to guarantee a win against Arlecchino. Furthermore, we highly recommend using the Puppet Destroyer’s Amulet and the Arm of God Amulet to get a passive boost in attack power against Arlecchino.

Here are some tips that will help you easily defeat Arlecchino the Blood Artist in Lies of P Overture:

  • In the first phase, you shouldn’t have too much trouble countering Arlecchino’s attacks. However, if you’re having trouble hitting the boss, remember that you can get an attack window after the boss finishes his 3-hit combo. Don’t try to attack the boss in between his combos. Arlecchino’s moveset is designed to allow counters, and as such, he’s usually relentless with his attacks. The best way to deal damage to the boss is by using charged heavy attacks and Fable Arts.
  • Make sure to carry the Perfection Grindstone for this boss fight. The second phase always starts with a whopping 15-hit combo, which does not leave any room for dodges. To counter this combo, you need to parry it. This is where the Perfection Grindstone comes into play. Use the Perfection Grindstone at the start of the second phase, and keep the second charge reserved for the end of the boss fight. Arlecchino repeats the 15-hit combo at the tail end of the battle, and this is when you want to use the second Grindstone charge.
  • Lastly, if you’re having too much trouble with the boss, remember to use Lea. You can interact with Lea right at the start of the boss fight to have her divert the boss’s attention. This will give you plenty of time to get your attacks in and even stagger the boss multiple times.
