The Devourer of Flames is a rather challenging boss that can debuff your party while buffing itself. It also has a rather annoying attack in its arsenal that can potentially wipe your entire team. As such, you will need a certain strategy to beat it.

Before you step into the fight, you will need some specific setups to ease your overall process:
- Inherit the following skills on these Archetypes:
- Samurai: Marakarn
- Trickster: Pen Patra
- Armor:
- Flameseal Corselet: Obtained by trading 38 Gold Beetles to the Elderly Man in Port Brielhaven.
- Cardinal Dragon Armor: Obtained by completing the other two dragons in this series – Devourer of Stars and Devourer of Nations
- Stack up on cure items like Slapstick Fan and Panacea.

Boss Fight Strategy to Defeat Devourer of Flames in Metaphor ReFantazio
Use the following tips to effectively strategize and win the boss fight against Devourer of Flames:
- Use the Prince Archetype’s Royal Slash skill to deal damage, and then use the Trickster Archetype to debuff this boss.
- When Devourer of Flames is at half HP, the boss will use a special move called Flamespire of Ruin that can wipe out your entire party. Cast Marakarn or Patrecarm on your allies who do not have any flame-resisting armor since this will allow them to survive this attack.
- Heal as much as you can with the items that you brought for this purpose.
- When the boss charms your party, use Pen Patra or Panacea to cure the status effect and counterattack it.
