Everything you need to know about the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign, and how to easily defeat the new Nightlord.

The Enhanced Darkdrift Knight (Everdark Sovereign) is easily among the toughest new bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign. Although technically, the Everdark Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, isn’t as difficult as the Everdark Adel, it still poses a level of difficulty that’s higher than anything in the base game. In terms of challenge, the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight is comparable to the game’s final boss, Night Aspect.
However, there are a few key aspects that give the new Nightlord an edge over its regular counterpart. Firstly, the empowered version of Fulghor has access to a whole new third phase, complete with new attacks and combos.
And secondly, the boss has significantly more HP, resistance, and base AP. Suffice it to say, defeating the new Nightlord isn’t going to be easy, even with Level 15 Nightfarers. However, there are ways to make the boss fight significantly easier. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Overview of the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Enhanced Darkdrift Knight, much like Everdark Adel, starts the battle in his second phase. However, unlike the regular Darkdrift Knight, the enhanced variant is more susceptible to stagger via Lightning. With the right setup of weapons and passive buffs, you can easily deplete more than half of the Nightlord’s health bar before it can even transition to the third phase.
However, under normal circumstances, the boss switches to his third phase at roughly 75% of his HP. In the third phase, Fulghor gains a complete arm as well as access to two new, incredibly devastating attacks. The third phase starts with a Holy Greatbow combo, which is a targeted AOE.
Fulghor follows this AOE attack with a charged jump or a rain of arrows combo. After a short while, the Nightlord will once again rise up in midair and summon a Twinblade. With the Twinblade, Fulghor performs a 5-hit combo and ends it with a ground slam.
Given that most of Fulghor’s new combos are AOEs, ranged classes work incredibly well against this boss. Lastly, Enhanced Darkdrift Knight also has access to a massive charged AOE, which it can perform twice during any given encounter.
At the start of this charged AOE, Fulghor always marks one of the Nightfarers. To avoid this attack, you need to run away from the boss’s range. Think of this attack as Adel’s lightning AOE (second phase). Apart from these few combos, the battle remains mostly identical when compared to the regular Darkdrift Knight.
Weaknesses of the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight

Similar to the regular Darkdrift Knight, Everdark Fulghor is extremely weak to Lightning. The boss is also weak to Frost, Fire, and Bleed. However, it’s immune to Poison and Rot. That said, even when compared to Frost, Lightning is the best choice against Fulghor. It not only staggers the boss out of its bigger combos but also wears down the Nightlord’s defenses.
The only catch here is that, apart from very few rare Relics and Lightning Camps (both of which are RNG-based), there’s no way to guarantee a Lightning weapon in every single run. As such, the second-best alternative to use against the Everdark (and regular) Fulghor is Frost.
While you won’t be able to stagger Fulghor with Frost, you will be able to weaken its defenses and also deal damage over time. As for Nightfarers, the best options against Fulghor are Raider, Wylder, Ironeye, Guardian, Duchess, and even Revenant.
Tips To Easily Defeat the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign

Here are some tips that should help you easily defeat the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight:
- The Enhanced Darkdrift Knight might look quite intimidating; however, much like Everdark Adel, it’s a very methodical boss encounter. While the Nightlord hits hard, it does leave itself open to attacks quite often. The challenge is to figure out those openings and capitalize on them. Also, always remember to bring Lightning or Frost to this boss fight. Even one of the allies having a Lightning weapon can make a major difference against Fulghor.
- In co-op, try to divert Fulghor’s attention as much as possible. It’s one of the few bosses that punishes a defensive approach but rewards a more aggressive playstyle. You want to constantly keep pressuring the boss; as such, we recommend using Ironeye or Duchess for this boss fight. Alternatively, you can also use Raider to easily stagger the boss out of its charged combos.
- Remember to always keep an eye on the boss. Most of Fulghor’s attacks can be dodged with a well-timed jump. Yes, even the charged AOEs can be avoided with a jump. However, if you’re not confident with your timings, you can simply roll away from the boss. Do note that some Nightfarers (like Ironeye) have i-frames even for their Character Skills.
- Although Lightning and Frost won’t have any direct effect on Fulghor in the third phase, it’s still worth using the affinities. In the third phase, you won’t be able to stagger the Nightlord with Lightning. However, you can still drain the boss’s defenses and even completely negate some of its charged combos.
Additional Notes
If you don’t have access to Frost Relics, we recommend completing the Fissure in the Fog Expedition. Completing Fissure in the Fog and defeating Caligo rewards you with a special Relic that grants your starting weapon the Chilling Mist skill.
