Do you wish to expand and decorate your vampire castle? Here’s how you can do it by beating Grayson the Armourer in V Rising.
With the release of V Rising’s 1.1 update, people are once again rising from their coffins to get back into the game and reign chaos. However, to reach the new content, you first have to play through the entirety of the pre-existing content.
To complete said content, you are going to need many types of resources, and Whetstone is one among many. You are going to need a lot of it if you wish to expand your castle. Moreover, you first have to defeat a unique boss to get the Whetstone recipe. Here’s a guide on how you can defeat Grayson the Armourer in V Rising.

Defeating Grayson the Armourer in V Rising
You can easily craft high quantities of Whetstone yourself by using your Furnace. However, you first have to defeat Grayson the Armourer to get the recipe for Whetstone. You are going to find Grayson in a large camp that is in the northwestern sector of Farbane Woods. He is a Level 27 boss, so it won’t be too difficult. However, there is a gimmick to this boss.
Grayson uses a huge hammer and mostly charges at you to deal damage. Additionally, he might call for backup and spawn basic enemies to annoy you. However, his most annoying attack is when he spreads a huge amount of caltrops all over the area. These caltrops are glowing, spiky metal balls that damage and slow you when you walk over them.
When he does this attack, you must equip armor from one of the four armor stands in the arena. You do it by going near one and interacting with it. Doing so makes you invulnerable for 10 seconds. During this period, you won’t take any damage. Use this opportunity to run over the caltrops and make space on the arena to fight again. The armors do not replenish, so you only have four chances. Now, here’s what you need to craft a Whetstone once you defeat Grayson:
- 1x Copper Ingot
- 12x Stone Dust
Loot Camps for Whetstones
Another method to get Whetstones in V Rising is by looting different camps in Farbane Woods. If you open your map, you can see what resources you can obtain from a camp. Go to the ones that have Whetstone in them. You can get loot from chests or by breaking boxes around the camps. Lastly, you can send servants, and they can bring loot from camps, which includes Whetstones.
