Jakira the Shadow Huntress is the first boss from the Oakveil update in V Rising. Here’s how you can beat her.
With the introduction of the Oakveil update, you are going to encounter many new bosses in V Rising. Jakira the Shadow Huntress is one of the first Oakveil bosses that you fight, despite her being Level 75. In general, Oakveil is a very late-game area, so you are going to encounter Jakira dozens of hours into your playthrough. Moreover, this boss is quite difficult as she uses a completely new type of weapon.
To help players defeat the new boss, here’s a guide on how to defeat Jakira the Shadow Huntress in V Rising.

Defeating Jakira the Shadow Huntress in V Rising
You can find Jakira the Shadow Huntress roaming around the southern section of the Oakveil Woodlands. However, she does not have a set spawn. Once you get close to her spawning location, you can hear her speak a voiceline and initiate the fight herself after teleporting beside you.
Jakira is proficient at using slashers, a completely new weapon type that is added in the Oakveil update. Moreover, many of the attacks are choreographed to show the deadliness of the dual blades. Here are all of Jakira’s moves:
- Jakira teleports beside you to unleash a melee combo.
- If you attack Jakira and move away, she dashes towards you and deals damage on the way.
- She uses her blades to send waves of energy that damage you on contact.
- Her special attack summons wolves and transforms them into herself. All the Jakira attacks with the same ferocity, making this one of the hardest moves to dodge in V Rising. We recommend either using a good defensive spell or running away from her till the spell wears off.
If you wish to defeat her, try to use defensive and summoning spells. Jakira moves fast and hits hard, which means you cannot run away or confront her directly. It is best to use ranged weapons such as the Daggers. You can deal chip damage while not losing mobility.
