Seregios, the scaly Flying Wyvern and one of the most iconic monsters from Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter 4 Generations (overseas), has finally made its debut in a mainline Monster Hunter game. The scaled menace might not be the toughest Flying Wyvern out there, but it certainly is the most agile one.

Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds retains most of its movesets from Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. However, there are a few new attacks thrown into the mix, which complement the new game’s faster-paced combat. Much like Lagiacrus, the latest appearance of Seregios is arguably one of the best, both in terms of its spectacle and also its difficulty.

Much like in Sunbreak, Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds is quite a challenging monster, more so than Lagiacrus or even Arkveld. It’s also one of the few monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds that inflict Bleed. However, with proper planning and knowledge of the monster’s weaknesses, you can easily defeat the Flying Wyvern. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to defeat Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds TU2.

Overview of Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds

Seregios is a Flying Wyvern class monster in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, it’s one of the few anomalies in that specific category. Similarly to Nergigagante, Seregios is a nomad and a monster that doesn’t obey all the rules of its class. Unlike other Flying Wyverns, which often command an elemental ability, Seregios doesn’t have any elemental ability. Much like Nergigante, the Flying Wyvern survives (and thrives) purely on its physical prowess and aggression.

Seregios does not have any elemental abilities, but it’s not a monster to be taken lightly. There are two very powerful abilities that the Flying Wyvern has access to, which not only deal a ton of damage but can also one-shot Hunters. Seregios can use its spiked scales as projectiles, which not only stagger Hunters but also inflict Bleed. Furthermore, the monster also uses its powerful leg muscles to jump in midair and stomp its prey (or attackers) repeatedly. The jump combo is easily the most dangerous attack in Seregios’s arsenal. If you fail to dodge or counter it, it will deal a ton of damage and even has the potential to one-shot you.

In addition to that, Seregios also has a few different variations of grab attacks, which also inflict Bleed. The combination of Bleed and the ability to repeatedly attack Hunters with minimal downtime is precisely what makes Seregios a major threat. Due to the monster’s agility, you won’t get too many opportunities to dish out damage.

Weaknesses of Seregios

Seregios is extremely weak to Iceblight. The Flying Wyvern is also weak to Thunderblight. However, due to its armor, the Thunder debuff doesn’t stay for too long on the monster. However, Iceblight works incredibly well against Seregios. It not only deals passive damage but also slows down the monster, giving you ample time to get your own combos in.

Furthermore, the monster is also weak to Blastblight, which comes in incredibly handy if you’re using an Affinity build. Seregios is also weak to Poison and Sleep. However, Paralysis doesn’t work all that well on Seregios, partly due to its armor. You can, however, Exhaust it quite easily.

How To Easily Defeat Seregios in MH Wilds

Here are some tips that will help you easily defeat Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Seregios is a relatively easy monster to deal with, as long as you have the right weapons to capitalize on its weaknesses. The only issue players will face with Seregios is his speed and tendency to move around the arena. Think of Seregios like Arkveld with more agility. However, most of the Flying Wyvern’s attacks are quite easy to dodge.

  • The first flurry of stomp attacks can be easily dodged, even with your weapon drawn. However, be extra careful about dodging the final stomp, which can deal a ton of damage. Additionally, if you’re using a weapon with an active guarding ability, make sure to use that to initiate a Guard Counter. Despite its outer armor, Seregios is quite easy to stagger, even with smaller weapons.

  • Make sure to carry plenty of Nulberries. While Bleed might not look all that bad compared to other elemental affinities, it can be quite deadly in the long run. It essentially stacks with subsequent attacks and deals damage over time. And if left unchecked, being afflicted with Bleed vastly reduces your defenses, making you prone to Seregio’s follow-up attacks.

  • Nulberries are the easiest way to heal Bleed. Other than that, you can crouch and stay still for a couple of seconds to cure yourself of Bleed. Also, if you manage to avoid Seregios’s scales and claw attacks, you will never get inflicted with Bleed in the first place.

  • One of the easiest ways to immobilize Seregios is to sever its tail and break its wings. It basically works similarly to Rathalos, where breaking its parts reduces the frequency of the monster’s attacks. Also, unlike Lagiacrus, Seregios can be easily wounded on its limbs. However, you want to primarily wound the monster’s wings and head first.

  • Make sure to carry Flash Pods as well, since they allow you to stagger the monster out of its attacks. If you see Seregios flying and charging up its claw attack, fire a Flash Pod to quickly stagger it and get a free opportunity to dish out damage. In addition to that, mounting is also a great way to deal a ton of damage to the monster and also create wounds.
