In this guide, we will look at the best Pokemon to use against the Elite 4 and the Champion Geeta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Guide To Defeat Elite Four and Champion in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Overview
How to Defeat Ground-type Elite Four Rika in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon | Level | Ability | Moves |
---|---|---|---|
Whiscash | 57 | Oblivious | Muddy Water, Earth Power, Blizzard, Future Sight |
Camerupt | 57 | Magma Armor | Earth Power, Fire Blast, Flash Cannon, Yawn |
Donphan | 57 | Sturdy | Earthquake, Stone Edge, Iron Head, Poison Jab |
Dugtrio | 57 | Sand Veil | Earthquake, Rock Slide, Sucker Punch, Sandstorm |
Clodsire | 58 | Water Absorb | Earthquake, Liquidation, Toxic, Protect |
Rika is the first member of the Elite 4 specializing in Ground-types. Her ace Clodsire Terastallizes into a pure Ground-type. Use Grass-, Water-, or Ice-type moves to deal with her Pokemon. However, this will not be a free sweep as her Donphan has Sturdy to survive one hit from full HP. Similarly, her Clodsire has Water Absorb to become immune and heal from Water-type attacks.
How to Defeat Steel-type Elite Four Poppy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon | Level | Ability | Moves |
---|---|---|---|
Copperajah | 58 | Sheer Force | High Horsepower, Play Rough, Heavy Slam, Stealth Rock |
Magnezone | 58 | Sturdy | Discharge, Flash Cannon, Light Screen, Tri Attack |
Bronzong | 58 | Levitate | Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, Rock Blast, Earthquake |
Corviknight | 58 | Pressure | Brave Bird, Iron Defense, Body Press, Iron Head |
Tinkaton | 59 | Mold Breaker | Play Rough, Gigaton Hammer, Brick Break, Stone Edge |
Poppy is next with her Steel-type team. You will have to rely on your Fire and Ground types here, as three of her Pokemon have a secondary typing that resists Fighting. Admittedly, her ace Tinkaton will Terastallize into a pure Steel type but can hit back with STAB Play Rough. Additionally, her Corviknight and Bronzong are immune to Ground moves, so be wary of them. Even Fire-types are not completely safe, as her Copperajah and Bronzong carry Ground-type coverage.
How to Defeat Flying-type Elite Four Larry in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon | Level | Ability | Moves |
---|---|---|---|
Tropius | 59 | Chlorophyll | Air Slash, Solar Beam, Dragon Pulse, Sunny Day |
Oricorio | 59 | Dancer | Revelation Dance, Air Slash, Teeter Dance, Icy Wind |
Altaria | 59 | Natural Cure | Moonblast, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse |
Staraptor | 59 | Intimidate | Facade, Brave Bird, Close Combat, Thief |
Flamigo | 60 | Scrappy | Brave Bird, Close Combat, Throat Chop, Liquidation |
Larry’s back and this time he’s a Flying-type trainer. His ace this time is a Flamigo instead of a Staraptor that Terastallizes into a pure Flying-type. His team is especially weak to Ice-type attacks, with all five of his mons getting KO’d by a strong enough Ice move. However, his Tropius can set up the sun with Sunny Day, his Altaria knows Flamethrower, and both his Staraptor and Flamigo have access to Fighting-type moves. So consider Rock- and Electric-moves as well.
How to Defeat Dragon-type Elite Four Hassel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon | Level | Ability | Moves |
---|---|---|---|
Noivern | 60 | Infiltrator | Air Slash, Dragon Pulse, Super Fang, Hyper Voice |
Haxorus | 60 | Mold Breaker | Dragon Claw, Crunch, Iron Head, Rock Tomb |
Dragalge | 60 | Poison Point | Sludge Bomb, Dragon Pulse, Thunderbolt, Hydro Pump |
Flapple | 60 | Ripen | Dragon Rush, Seed Bomb, Leech Seed, Aerial Ace |
Baxcalibur | 61 | Thermal Exchange | Glaive Rush, Icicle Crash, Brick Break |
Hassel is the final member of the Elite Four and, like Lance and Drake, he’s a Dragon-type specialist. His ace Baxcalibur Terastallizes into a pure Dragon-type. Ice-types are the best choice here, as after Baxcalibur Terastallizes none of his Pokemon resist the type. Remember to play around coverage like Haxorus’ Iron Head and Rock Tomb as well as Baxcalibur’s Brick Break. Fairy-types are a decent second choice, except watch out for Dragalge’s Sludge Bomb.
How to Defeat Champion Geeta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon | Level | Ability | Moves |
---|---|---|---|
Espathra | 61 | Opportunist | Lumina Crash, Dazzling Gleam, Quick Attack, Reflect |
Gogoat | 61 | Sap Sipper | Horn Leech, Zen Headbutt, Play Rough, Bulk Up |
Veluza | 61 | Mold Breaker | Aqua Jet, Liquidation, Psycho Cut, Ice Fang |
Avalugg | 61 | Own Tempo | Avalanche, Body Press, Earthquake, Crunch |
Kingambit | 61 | Supreme Overlord | Iron Head, Kowtow Cleave, Zen Headbutt, Stone Edge |
Glimmora | 62 | Toxic Debris | Tera Blast, Sludge Wave, Earth Power, Dazzling Gleam |
The main threat on Champion Geeta’s team is her Kingambit if faced after she’s lost a few Pokemon. Its ability Supreme Overlord gives it a damage boost for each ally she loses. Her Espathra can also a become a threat if you set up in front of it. Thanks to its ability Opportunist, it can copy those stat boosts. Finally, her Glimmora will Terastallize into a pure Rock-type and use a Tera Blast of that type.
It is worth noting that three of the four Elite Four members struggle with Ice-type moves. The type can also handle Geeta’s Gogoat. Additionally, Geeta tends to send out her Kingambit too early and her Glimmora last, making them less effective than they could be.

How To Use The Best Team To Defeat the Elite Four and Champion Geeta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
This is the way to use these Pokemon against the Paldean Elite Four and the Champion:
- Skeledirge: The Fire/Ghost starter spams Torch Song for Special Attack boosts. Can solo both Poppy and four of Geeta’s team this way.
- Weavile: Fast Dark/Ice-type that takes care of Larry and Hassel’s team as long as you outspeed everything. It also hits three of Rika’s and Geeta’s Pokemon for super-effective STAB damage.
- Azumarill: Water/Fairy type that helps deal with Rika’s Camerupt, and most of Hassel’s team.
- Corviknight: Flying/Steel type that serves as the team’s physical wall. Attackers that make contact will take chip damage from its Rocky Helmet.
- Jolteon: Fast Electric-type to help as a secondary attacker against Larry’s team.
- Toedscruel: Grass/Ground type that can help against Rika and Poppy. It can also put a troublesome Pokemon to sleep.
Best IVs and EVs To Train For This Team
All Pokemon should attempt to have maximum IVs. As for EVs, Skeledirge, Jolteon, and Toedscruel should invest in Special Attack, while Weavile and Azumarill should invest in Attack. Weavile also needs to outspeed everything in the Elite Four, so try to max out its Speed.
Tips and Tricks To Defeat the Elite Four and Champion Geeta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
- Corviknight and Jolteon form a nice pivoting core with U-Turn and Volt Switch. Additionally, Corviknight can slowly pivot into another Pokemon after tanking a hit, letting that Pokemon switch in safely.
- Getting an Azumarill without Huge Power is not helpful as it needs Huge Power to deal damage. If you are struggling to find a Huge Power Azumarill, go with something like Gyarados or Tinkaton.
- Thanks to its 104/100/75 defenses, Skeledirge also serves as a wall, especially with Leftovers recovery.
