Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl is a first-person survival video game developed and published by GSC Game World. The Zone is home to not only dangerous mutants but also some rewarding Journalist Stashes, which are located all over the map. These may not become available to you at all if you are not playing the game’s side quests.

Most of these Stashes are easy to obtain after reaching the designated location but others are hard to get due to the difficulty level in that region.

Journalist’s Stash #1: Lesser Zone (Zalissya)

Edge of Zalissya in the Lesser Zone is the location to get the first Journalist’s Stash. You need to move into the attic of an abandoned house. Head towards the north side of the house to see a blue truck. Jump from the right-hand headlight to reach the top. Jump onto the roof from the top of the car. Drop off the roof onto the balcony on the west side of the house. You can find the Journalist Stash from the top floor.

Reward: PTM Monolith (handgun), Mercenary’s Light Suit, Journalist’s Message 2 note for your PDA

Journalist’s Stash #2: Lesser Zone (Sphere)

You can find this Journalist Stash from the south in the Lesser Zone, found inside the Sphere. While completing the main story, you will be able to move to the sphere. A stash is placed on the top of the roof of a small building right up against the perimeter wall. You can see a ladder on the western side of that building. Simply climb it and open the stash to get rewards.

Rewards: AR416 Monolith, 5.56x45MM M885 ammo

Journalist’s Stash #3: Lesser Zone (Northern Checkpoint)

You can get the third Journalist Stash from the Northern Checkpoint which connects the Lesser Zone to Garbage. Climb the ladder on the corner of the white building after reaching into the compound. Move to the western side of the building to find the ladder. Move to the east side and drop down onto the lower rooftop by using the other ladder.

Rewards: Viper Monolith and 9x19MM FMJ ammo

Journalist’s Stash #4: Garbage (South)

You can get the fourth Journalist Stash from the south of Garbage. This is found in the middle of an area of, well, garbage, inside an old broken minibus. You can find the old bus with this particular crate. Follow the icon on the map and head into the minibus to open the Stash for the rewards.

Rewards: M860 Monolith and 12x70MM Buckshot ammo

Journalist’s Stash #5: Garbage (North)

You can get the Journalist Stash from a short distance traveled to the northwest of Slag Heap in Garbage. The stash is placed in a junkyard area with vehicle wreckages. Move to the south side and then head through the square opening of the upturned olive-green container. Turn right and jump onto the wreckage next to you. You can see the Journalist Stash on the right side.

Rewards: Tourist Suit.

Journalist’s Stash #6: Rostok

You can get the Journalist Stash from the area to the west of Garbage. Move into the abandoned school from the main entrance (east side) and turn left to head into the big room. You’ll encounter several anomalies over there, so use your Bolts to disable the anomalies. Move to the right side of the room and open the little container placed next to the bunk bed frames.

Reward: Riemann (Submachine gun)

Journalist’s Stash #7: Yaniv

This Journalist Stash is located in the base of Yaniv. This region is just above the Red Forest. Head to the disused railyard by following the icon on the map. You can see the abandoned train and the stash is available in one of the train containers.

Reward: Model Competitor (revolver)

Journalist’s Stash #8: Chemical Plant

You can get this Journalist Stash from the Chemical Plant region, across the bridge into the western side. Move to the compound next to the train tracks. Defeat some Fleshes and head to the building with the soldiers waiting for you. Simply jump on the top of the lorry and jump onto the next platform to climb in through the window. You can see the stash placed in a small room on your left.

Rewards: Lullaby (assault rifle)

Journalist’s Stash #9: Burnt Forest

This stash can be found in the middle of the burned village. You need to cross the border from the Chemical Plant and enter the Burnt Forest. There’s one house that is filled with fire anomaly and you have to climb down the ladder to get to the basement. The flame anomaly will be guarding the Journalist’s Stash. You need to deal with the anomaly with the right strategy.  

Rewards: SSP-100M SIRCAA suit

Journalist’s Stash #10: Swamp (North)

You can get this Journalist Stash in the Swamp region at the northeastern tip of the entire area. Move close to the main building on the north side. There’ll be a lot of cabinets on the ground. Jump on the top of the cabinet and then the other to jump onto the top of the fence next to the building. Hop on the ledge to get to your loot. Be careful of the gravity anomaly that will try to push you. Use a bolt to it dissipate temporarily.

Rewards: Veteran

Journalist’s Stash #11: Swamp (South)

You can get this Journalist’s Stash from the very bottom of the Swamp (South). Follow the main storyline to come across this location. Enter the abandoned building after moving inside the vicinity. The stash is found on the ground next to a bunkbed frame.

Rewards: Wanderer Suit

Journalist’s Stash #12: Duga

This is where things get tricky. The game doesn’t give you much trouble when it comes to other stashes. However, this one in particular is a hassle because it is located in a fortified area. You can’t enter through the main gate because the snipers won’t consider you a friendly face and will shoot you dead. However, you can infiltrate by entering a yard from the southeastern part of the big base.

As your map directs you, reach the armory here. However, there will be a Burer mutant waiting for you. It’s not going to be an easy fight because the mutated enemy can use abandoned (and your) weapons against you. When you finally put an end to this formidable foe, activate the generator on the left side of the building’s interior.

Visit the control room upstairs to interact with the switch there, unlocking the gate to let you grab the loot from the locker. You will receive an SA-U Gabon assault rifle. Feel free to also take the SEVA-I suit from a nearby locker.
