Learn how to find and beat the Cyan Loong in Black Myth Wukong as we explain the boss fight location, mechanics, strategies, Spells, and rewards.
Where to find the Cyan Loong Boss in Black Myth Wukong?
To find the Cyan Loong, you first need to obtain the Loong Scales, complete the first two chapters of the game, and reach Chapter 3, The New West. Similarly to the Red Loong and the Black Loong, the Cyan Loong is part of the Loong questline, which is required to get the true ending of Black Myth Wukong. However, unlike the previous Loong boss fights, you won’t have to travel to a completely different part of the map to reach the Cyan Loong boss fight.
Your first objective is to get the Loong Scales key item in Chapter 2 – Yellow Sand Ridge, and after that, you simply need to make your way over to Chapter 3 (The New West) – Turtle Island Shrine. Here are the prerequisites for the Cyan Loong boss fight:
- Collect the Loong Scales key item from Valley of Despair (Chapter 2).
- Reach the Turtle Island Keeper’s Shrine in Chapter 3, and defeat the main story boss – Kang-Jin Star.
- Find the Cyan Loong to the left of the Turtle Island Shrine.
How to obtain the Loong Scales secret item in Black Myth Wukong
You must first obtain the Loong Scales key item to unlock the Cyan Loong boss fight. Without the Loong Scales, the Cyan Loong will stay frozen near the Turtle Island Keeper’s Shrine. Thankfully, obtaining the Loong Scales is quite easy as it can be found in the boss arena where you fought the First Rat Prince in Chapter 2 (Yellow Sand Ridge). Simply head to the Valley of Despair Keeper’s Shrine, and from there to the south towards the cave-like structure. Proceed further through the cave to reach the boss arena.
After you defeat the First Rat Prince, stay at the arena and look to its right. You will see a wall adorned with scriptures and statues. Use the Wandering Wight Spirit skill to crack the wall. Once the wall is cracked, you should be able to interact with it and head inside. Within the wall, you will find a completely separate area with a treasure chest at the end of it. Loot the treasure chest to obtain the Loong Scales.
How to reach the Cyan Loong boss fight
Once you have the Loong Scales, progress until you reach the Turtle Island Keeper’s Shrine in Chapter 3 (The New Wes). This shrine automatically unlocks while fighting the main story boss, Kang-jin Star. From the Turtle Island Shrine, head to the right side of the mountain until you reach a ledge-like area. You should be able to drop down from the ledge and reach the area below it, which houses the Cyan Loong, who you might remember a s statue that seemed to be fishing in the lake adjacent to the island. With the Loong Scales in your possession, the Cyan Loong should break free of his slumber, allowing you to battle against him.
It should be noted that although it is recommended to have defeated the previous two Loongs (Red Loong and Black Loong) before the Cyan Loong, it’s not a necessity. You can choose to fight the Loongs in any order you wish. However, you need to defeat all of them to reach the final step of the Loong questline as well as the Yellow Loong.
How to Beat Cyan Loong in Black Myth Wukong
The best way to beat Cyan Loong in Black Myth Wukong is to use the Perfect Dodges and the Immobilize Spell. The Cloud Step Spell also helps, but it’s not all that effective given the limited size of the arena where you fight the Cyan Loong. Apart from the Spells, you would also want to use a powerful weapon and a Spirit (we highly recommend the Wandering Wight) to dish out enough damage in the first phase of the boss fight. Like the previous Loong battles, the Cyan Loong is a single-phase fight.
However, he does gain a few new tricks at the tail-end of his healthbar, which can catch you off-guard. Here are some things to be mindful of while fighting the Cyan Loong:
- Attacks: Most of Cyan Loongs attacks inflict lightning status, as such, you’d want at least some form of Shock resistance or Four Banes resistance.
- Survival: Make sure you have a powerful Transformation, which you will primarily be using at the tail-end of the boss fight. it will help you with your survivability.
- Damage windows: The Cyan Loong is very nimble and agile, as such, you won’t get too many openings to attack the boss. However, using Immobilize and dealing enough damage to the boss will stagger him, allowing you plenty of time to sneak in a good few hits.
- Elemental resistances and weaknesses: The Cyan Loong, much like the other Dragon bosses in Black Myth Wukong, is extremely resistant to Shock and Poison. However, it is weak to Burn status, as such, you’d want a Transformation like Red Tides in your arsenal to deal fire elemental damage to the boss.
Additional Tip
Lastly, if you want a much easier time fighting the Cyan Loong, I highly recommend coming back to the boss fight after either completing the main story once, or at least reaching Chapter 6 – Mount Huaguo. That way, you will have access to some of the most powerful end-game gear, which will help you easily trounce the boss.

Tips and tricks to defeat the Cyan Loong
Compared to the Red and Black Loongs, the Cyan Loong is a relatively slow-paced fight. In fact, at the start of the battle, the Cyan Loong doesn’t even attack the Destined One, giving you a good few seconds to dish out damage via varied combos. However, once you deal the first strike to the boss, the Cyan Loong can immediately retaliate, usually with a slash attack that also inflicts Shock status. The Shock status essentially reduces overall defense and increases stamina recovery rate. Hence, it’s really important to invest in Four Banes resistance.
The best way to deal with the Cyan Loong is to use Immobilize Spell and varied combos. We highly recommend using the Thrust Stance as it’s incredibly effective against airborne enemies. During most of the fight, the Cyan Loong tends to stay in midair, and hence, with the Smash and Pillar Stance, you might find it a tad bit difficult to hit the boss. Furthermore, the Cyan Loong also has a 6-hit combo, which can easily one-shot you, unless you avoid it. Thankfully, dodging most of Cyan Loong’s attacks is fairly easy.
Strategies and Gameplay
Below are the attacks you need to look out for:
- Multi-hit slash attack: This is the most common move that the Cyan Loong will use during the boss fight. This attack is very easily dodged if you time it right. Alternatively, you can simply sprint away from the boss or stagger him with the Cloud Step or Immobilize Spell.
- Lightning balls: This is an AOE (area-of-effect) attack that covers the ground in lightning. Using the Pillar Stance does give you some clearance against this attack. Alternatively, you can simply use Immobilize and dash behind the boss to avoid getting hit by the AOE.
- 6-hit slash attack combo: This is the most deadliest combo in Cyan Loong’s arsenal. To avoid this attack, time your dodge right before his blade touches the Destined One, and then press the dodge button five times, with a short delay. Alternatively, you can use Rock Solid or the Red Tides Transformation to tank this entire combo.
- Ground slam: This is another AOE attack, which is much easier to dodge compared to the Lightning balls. As always, the Pillar Stance helps avoid this attack, or, you can simply kite behind the boss to avoid getting hit by the AOE.
