Luma Island takes players to a magical world filled with secrets and adventures for you to tackle. During your journey through the island, Copper Ore is one of the essential resources you will need to gather. Copper Ore is crucial for crafting various items that can help you in your quest, ranging from tools and weapons to structures that support your farm. However, locating a steady supply of Copper Ore can be a bit of a challenge in the early hours of the game.
In this article, we will break down the best locations and strategies you can employ to locate Copper Ore in Luma Island.
Where To Find Copper Ore in Luma Island
When you begin the game, look for the first two Copper Ore nodes right beside your trailer near the Abandoned Farm Cave entrance. As you explore the Farm area, you might stumble upon a few more Copper Ore nodes if you’re fortunate. However, these nodes do not respawn once you have mined them, making it necessary for you to seek out additional sources for your future crafting needs.
The most efficient way to farm Copper Ore early on in the game is in the Abandoned Farm Cave. You can access this cave using the ladder near your farm. Within the cave, you will find numerous Copper Ore nodes ripe for mining with your Copper Pickaxe.
One of the main challenges in the Abandoned Farm Cave is the complete darkness beyond the initial area. Staying in the dark for too long will result in your character’s demise, forcing you to restart from the cave entrance. Fortunately, this doesn’t cause you to lose any items. However, you will need proper lighting to mine Copper Ore effectively.
How To Craft Farm Torches
To safely navigate the Abandoned Farm Cave, you will need to craft Farm Torches. Follow these steps to craft:
- Buy the Simple Workbench Blueprint from Balthazar’s Drawing Shop located on the town outskirts.
- Once you have the blueprint, you can gather the required materials and build the workbench.
- Now, using the workbench, you can craft Farm Torches from the following materials:
- 1x Farm Wood
- 1x Farm Resin
These materials are relatively easy to find around the farm. You should craft at least 10 Farm Torches to ensure you have enough light for your cave exploration.
With your Farm Torches in hand, head into the Abandoned Farm Cave. Place torches on the ground as you progress to keep the area well-lit. This will allow you to mine the Copper Ore nodes without the risk of dying from prolonged darkness. Be diligent in your exploration, and you’ll find plenty of Copper Ore to stock up on.
While mining, be mindful of your surroundings. Spiders will start spawning and attack you on sight if you stay in the cave for too long. You can fend them off with the Whip, but they can be tough to defeat. This is especially true if your tools are not upgraded.
