The 99 Nights in the Forest July 2025 update introduced several new features, including the long-awaited Anvil, a powerful new structure that unlocks unique crafting recipes. But it’s not handed to you, you’ll need to find the hidden location, fight off cultists, and track down its missing pieces before you can use it.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you find and build the Anvil in 99 Nights in the Forest.
Where Is the Anvil in 99 Nights in the Forest?
The Anvil is located inside a new building that now appears on your map. Look for the anvil icon to find its rough location. Once you reach the building, you’ll need a Good Axe or stronger to break through the barricade and enter.
Tip: Bring healing items and prepare for a fight, there are cultists inside guarding the structure.
How To Build the Anvil
After clearing the enemies, you’ll find the first anvil piece inside the main room. However, the full Anvil isn’t usable yet. You’ll need to collect three pieces total hidden within the structure.
Step-by-Step Anvil Piece Locations
- First Piece: Found immediately in the main room after defeating the cultists.
- Second Piece: Climb the vines near the back of the room to reach a tunnel-like passage. The next piece is located there.
- Third Piece: Continue climbing to reach the roof area of the structure. Look for a chest near the final anvil piece.
Once you collect all three pieces, return to the base level of the structure and interact with the anvil spot to place the parts.
How the Anvil Works
After placing all the parts, the anvil becomes usable. You’ll be prompted to choose from one of three crafting recipes, which are randomly offered and may vary by player or session.
These recipes aren’t ordinary. Subsequently, they offer unique gear and tools not found at standard crafting stations. The exact items are still being discovered by players, but they appear to include upgraded weapons and utility items.
What You Need Before You Go
Here’s what you should bring when hunting for the Anvil:
- Good Axe or better to break open the building.
- Combat gear and food to survive cultist attacks.
- Inventory space to carry anvil parts and loot.
- Climbing readiness for vine traversal and rooftop navigation.

- Watch the map for the new anvil icon, it marks the exact area.
- If you die inside, the parts remain but enemies may respawn.
- You can only select one recipe per full anvil build, so choose wisely.
