Myrkul’s gift is a powerful temporary buff that gives you a little help during the final Act 2 boss fight. Myrkul’s gift is so simple to gain but very easy to miss. With the right dialogue choices when talking to Kressa Bonedaughter in the Mind Flayer Colony, you can easily gain Myrkul’s gift on every play-through.

Myrkul’s Gift is a temporary buff that gives you +10 hitpoints, and enemies that strike you with a melee attack with the hitpoints active take 10 cold damage.

With a boss fight right around the corner, gaining Myrkul’s Gift in Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you a little extra cushion for a challenging fight. Or, you could pick up Myrkul’s blessing before going to the Necrotic Laboratory in the Mind Flayer Colony. While this isn’t as challenging of a fight, you’ll encounter many more enemies who will melee you, allowing you to take advantage of that bonus cold damage.

Still, getting Myrkul’s gift before fighting Ketheric Thorm is probably the better choice.

Myrkul’s Gift is located in the Mind Flayer Colony at the end of Act 2. You’ll have to talk to Kressa Bonedaughter, who will initially accuse you of being an intruder. Once you pass a deception check, she’ll let you carry on. After this, talk to her again. She will bless you if you pass the persuasion check asking for her blessing.

Is Getting Myrkul’s Gift Worth It?

If you pass the two checks, there’s no reason not to gain Myrkul’s Gift in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The hitpoints are very important, and you don’t take much melee damage in the final boss fight. To best prepare, you can make sure you’ve selected your companion, who is most likely to be in melee range, before asking for Myrkul’s blessing. This will make them a little tankier and give a higher chance of taking advantage of that cold damage.
