Among the various essential crafting materials, Bones remains one of the top. It is used for several purposes such as upgrading the spear or making arrows and armor. However, obtaining bones can be tricky, if you are not sure where to look for, especially in peaceful mode. There are several ways you can get bones in Endnight Games’ survival horror title The Forest.

Ways To Obtain Bones in The Forest

Similar to real life, bones can be obtained from dead bodies. Your first task in obtaining bone is to kill some cannibals or mutants. Next, you need fire to burn them to ashes. Look for any source of fire such as a campsite or you can even create one from your survival guide. Once you get the carcasses, pick them up and drop them on the fire. After a while, the bodies will disappear and turn into bones.

Additionally, you will get a skull along with several bones for burning a full corpse. This method also works if you set them on fire by throwing Molotov on them. However, you won’t get bones from animals. Throwing the limbs of the corpses into fire or hanging them on a drying rack also gives you bones, but the drying rack method takes much longer.

While playing in peaceful mode, acquiring bones is comparatively difficult as there will be no enemies. So, looking for bones in caves and abandoned camps is the best choice. Also, you can get limbs from cannibal effigies, which can then be burned to obtain bones.
