Update 1.39 of Fisch introduced the new Crystal Cove area along with a few new NPCs, titles, and 9 new fishing rods, including 2 Stage 11 Rods (Polaris Serenade and Wingripper). But there is a unique rod that you can get, which changes its stats every time you get a perfect catch, the Cinderstring Rod, which can only be found inside the new secret location, The Underground Music Venue.

Requirements for the Cinderstring Rod in Fisch
To start the quest from Wreck, you’ll need:
- 1x Scorched Sea Mine
- 1x Emberflame Hogchoker (trade only, unobtainable otherwise)
- 1x Shiny Subspace Bait Crate
- 1x Chaotic Enchant Relic
Location: Underground Music Venue
1. Getting the Scorched Sea Mine
- Travel to Desolate Deep.
- Use Crab Cages instead of fishing rods.
- Boost your chances with Urbalis Totems and Men in Luck from Merlin.
- Appraise the sea mine to roll for the Scorched Mutation.
2. Finding the Emberflame Hogchoker
- The Second Sea removal made the Hogchoker unobtainable.
- Current method: Trade Plaza only (prices are high).
- This is the hardest step in the quest.
3. Getting a Shiny Subspace Bait Crate
- Equip a Destiny Rod with Quantum Enchantment.
- Fish using Bait Crates for a 25% chance to roll Subspace items.
- Keep fishing until you land a Shiny Subspace Crate.
Once you have all three items and the Chaotic Enchant Relic, speak to Wreck in the Underground Music Venue. He will grant you the Cinderstring Rod.

The Cinderstring Rod is more of a collector’s prize than a meta-defining rod. The Hogchoker trade grind makes it hard to obtain, and its passive, while unique, doesn’t match the power of top-tier rods. However, it remains a stylish and rewarding rod to own.
