Do you wish to get a vampiric steed of your own? Here’s how you can do it using Dominate Mount in V Rising.

V Rising has just received its major 1.1 update, adding a completely new region named Oakveil Woodlands. As a vampire, you can hunt down powerful enemies and increase your strength. However, the map of V Rising is not small, and the addition of Oakveil makes it even larger than before. No powerful vampire simply walks around in the open; you need a mount for that.
Fortunately, the game allows you to tame horses and use them as mounts. Horses are commonly found throughout the world. However, once tamed, horses remain in one place unless moved, and you must park them in safe locations as you traverse. If you play V Rising for long enough, none of the late-game areas are safe enough to properly keep a horse. This is where the Dominate Mount ability comes into play.

How To Get Dominate Mount in V Rising

Dominate Mount is a special vampire ability that you unlock after reaching Castle Level 4. You do it through your Castle Heart, which is the blood fountain structure powering your entire castle. Additionally, unlike most other vampire abilities where you need to kill bosses, you unlock Dominate Mount right after reaching Castle Heart Level 4.
What Is Dominate Mount Ability in V Rising?

Dominate Mount is one of the last vampire abilities that you unlock. If you use Dominate Mount on any horse, you can turn it into a vampiric steed that is more powerful than normal horses. Additionally, a Dominated Mount no longer needs to sustain on plant fibers. If you Dominate Mount a horse, you gain two main abilities related to the horse. Here they are:
- Shadow Leap: You can jump high while on your Dominated Mount. This jump can help you navigate difficult terrain or move out of harm’s way quickly.
- Recall & Revive: You can summon your steed even if it perishes on the field. This way, you won’t lose your horse ever again.
Lastly, you can also use Release Companion to let go of your Dominated Mount. Each horse has different stats in V Rising. Release Companion lets you own the best horse that you can find.
