If you own a Nihonzaru pet, unlocking the Hot Spring can provide a major passive buff to all your pets, making it one of the most desirable support items in the game.
Here’s how the Hot Spring works, how to get it, and why you’ll want to grab it as soon as possible.
What Does Hot Spring Do in Grow a Garden?
When a Nihonzaru pet enters the Hot Spring, it activates a global passive boost that increases the effectiveness of all other pets you’ve equipped. This effect only triggers while the Nihonzaru is in the Hot Spring, so proper pet placement is essential.
It does not work without the Nihonzaru, making it a niche but extremely valuable item if you’re running a support-heavy setup or farming passives.

How To Get Hot Spring in Grow a Garden
To obtain the Hot Spring:
- Go to the Zen Shop, located near the center of the main island.
- Speak to Tanuki, the NPC merchant who runs the shop.
- Buy the Hot Spring for 30 Chi or 149 Robux.
You can earn Chi by giving Tranquil Plants to the Zen Shop NPC or Tranquil Fruit to the Zen Channeller for a chance at Zen rewards. Like all Zen Shop items, the Hot Spring has limited stock per server, but restocks happen often, so check back regularly if it’s sold out.

The Hot Spring is a must-have if you’re planning to use Nihonzaru in your lineup. While it doesn’t offer any direct bonus on its own, the synergy with Nihonzaru makes it one of the best passive amplifiers in Grow a Garden.
