However, unlike other basic materials, milk isn’t immediately easy to find, and players often wonder where and how to get it. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to obtain milk in Enshrouded, including where to find the right animals, how to interact with them, and tips to efficiently gather and use this resource.
How to Get Milk in Enshrouded
You can get Milk in Enshrouded by taming goats in the Springlands region. Furthermore, because the Springlands is the starting region of the game, goats will be one of the first animals you can capture to use as livestock.
Before you can tame goats you will need to rescue the Farmer, and set her up with some shelter at your home base. Once she is set up with a roof over her head and a bed, you can speak to her to get the Animal Farming quest. This will unlock the Goat Food Bait item you can craft by combining 1 Honey, 3 Plant Fiber, and 1 Corncob. Then, she’ll explain the taming system and send you out to find a Goat.
Goats are very easy to find from the starting point in Enshrouded, the Cinder Vault. Head northwest, just north of the Longkeep location. You should find a few goats and can tame and collect them. Next, bring them back to your home base and set up some shelter and animal bedding for them. Additionally, you’ll need to set up a feeder and craft some food. Once all of their needs have been taken care of, they will begin to produce Milk.
What is Milk, and what is it used for?
In Enshrouded you’ll use Milk to create an Antidote consumable and new food bait for taming Fae Deer. First, the Antidote consumable will cure you of poison. You’ll need to have the Alchemist and Mortar before this recipe unlocks. To craft 3 Antidotes you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 Poison Sack
- 3 Milk
- 5 Spider Gland
Secondly, another item you can craft with Milk is the Fae Deer Food Bait item. This will allow you to tame Fae Deer, which can produce their own Fae Deer Milk. To craft Fae Deer Food Bait with the Farmer you will need:
- 1 Plant Fiber
- 1 Milk
- 1 Corncob
- 1 Forest Beet
- 1 Penny Bun

Milk is a gatherable ingredient that you can only get from Goats you have tamed and sheltered. Furthermore, these animals are the first you learn to capture and can be found early on in the Springlands.
