In V Rising, the Primal Blood Essence is a key crafting material. The developers have described it as an energy source drawn from blood, as the name suggests. It is also needed for crafting and upgrading even in the late stages of the game. With the Primal Blood Essence, players can craft weapons and armor such as the Dark Silver Variant and Shadowmon set, as well as important workstations like the Anvil and the Ancestral Forge. However, in the game, there is only one way to get your hands on this material. In this article, we will explain everything about it.
How To Craft Primal Blood Essence in V Rising
To create Primal Blood Essence, players must follow a few specific steps. First, you need to obtain the Advanced Blood Press. After that, you can use either Greater Blood Essence or Exquisite Hearts. We will discuss these two items later, but first, let’s go over how to acquire the Advanced Blood Press.
Players won’t have access to the Advanced Blood Press right away. You will need to unlock it by defeating Jade the Vampire Hunter. She is a level 57 V Blood Carrier located near the roads in the Dunley Farmlands. She prefers to strike from a distance and won’t let you get close easily. However, using melee weapons against her is the most effective strategy.
Additionally, Jade will attempt to hit you with two significantly powerful attacks once her health drops to 50%. If she lands them, it could kill you instantly. But it largely depends on how much health you have at that point. Listening to the voice cues can help you in this situation. Once these attacks are over, keep hitting her with melee attacks, and she will eventually be defeated.
How To Obtain Exquisite Hearts
Werewolves, Night Lurkers, and Witches may drop Exquisite Hearts after you defeat them. However, this is not an easy task, as you will need level 60 or higher gear to face these creatures. Additionally, if you want an alternative method, level 60 or higher V Blood Carriers may also possess Exquisite Hearts in V Rising.
If you are determined to get this item, we recommend targeting Paladin and Knight enemies. You can find them in the Silverlight Hills area, near the docks, located west of the Dunley Farmlands. Additionally, you may also find skill jewel upgrades during this expedition.
How To Obtain Greater Blood Essence
Unlike Exquisite Hearts, players can only get Greater Blood Essence in V Rising by crafting it with a Blood Press. There are two different methods or recipes for creating Greater Blood Essence. You unlock the first recipe automatically when you build a Blood Press, and it requires four Unsullied Hearts.
The alternative recipe uses 200 Blood Essence instead of Unsullied Hearts. To unlock it, you must defeat Tristan the Vampire Hunter. He is a level 47 V Blood Carrier and can be quite difficult depending on your gear and the game’s difficulty level. You can find this NPC near the center of Farbane Woods. Tristan puts up a tough fight, so we recommend preparing accordingly and using higher-level gear than the game recommends.
Furthermore, you might run into trouble when Tristan uses his spin move. You can use your Veil Dash to safely escape danger when he strikes. After that, keep your distance until his spinning animation ends. Then, use your offensive moves until his health is fully depleted.
