The Spell Binder in Black Myth: Wukong blocks the usage of all other spells to significantly increase your attack. While this might not seem that great on paper, the spell can be very useful in fights where the boss can easily bypass your spells.
Acquiring the Spell Binder in Black Myth: Wukong is a multi-step process, and you will first need to learn another spell earlier in Chapter 3. In this guide, we will explain all the steps that you must follow to get this Spell.
What is the Spell Binder in Black Myth: Wukong?
Spell Binder is a powerful spell that significantly boosts your attack while blocking all spell usage in Black Myth: Wukong. It can be acquired in Chapter 3, and you will have to complete the Treasure Hunter questline to get this. However, there is a major prerequisite.
Prerequisites to get Spell Binder
You must learn the Ring of Fire Spell first in Chapter 3 to get Spell Binder Black Myth: Wukong. This spell will be needed in the second stage of the Treasure Hunter questline that rewards you with Spell Binder.
How to complete Treasure Hunter Quest in Black Myth Wukong
To start the Treasure Hunter Quest in Black Myth: Wukong, head to the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Keeper’s Shrine in the New West. After you have Fast Travelled to this Shrine, start running along the coast while keeping the water body to your left. This is the same path that you take to start the Chen Loong quest and get the Ruyi Scroll.
You should see a gated entrance to the right side of Chen Loong’s hut. Enter and keep walking to the lake to find the Treasure Hunter NPC. Here is a step-by-step guide to complete the Treasure Hunter questline in Black Myth: Wukong:
Step 1: Defeat the enemies and talk to the Treasure Hunter
When you find the Treasure Hunter, he will be seen getting attacked by three flying guais. Defeat them, talk to the NPC, and exhaust his entire dialogue. He will talk about a treasure and will promise to share it with you after finding it.
Step 2: Find the Treasure Hunter again and use the Ring of Fire
You will find the Treasure Hunter again near the Towers of Karma Keeper’s Shrine in Ecstacy Valley of the New West. Simply Fast Travel to this Shrine and make sure to equip the Ring of Fire Spell since you will need it to proceed further.
Take the path directly opposite the Shrine, and after a very short sprint, you will find the Treasure Hunter shivering in the cold. Use the Ring of Fire Spell here to trigger a cutscene where the NPC will warm himself up. He will now talk about a child with watermelons, and you can then proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Find and defeat the Green-Capped Martialist (Treasure Hunter)
The Green-Capped Martialist is a secret boss that can that you need to defeat. This is actually the Treasure Hunter himself, who was “testing” you in some way. To find him, head to the Melon Field Keeper’s Shrine in the Valley of Ecstacy. This is also a hidden Shrine, so you will have to find it first.
From this Shrine, walk towards the giant empty arena to start the Boss Fight. The Green-Capped Martialist is not the easiest fight, but it is not very difficult on the scale overall. If you dodge his attacks with the fiery rings and conserve your Mana properly, this secret boss should not be much of a hindrance.
Step 4: Acquire Spell Binder in Black Myth: Wukong
After you defeat the Green-Capped Martialist, as cutscene will ensue with the Child Buddha NPC’s appearance. This character will turn the ground into a Melon Field, and will also reward you with Spell Binder.
