The Skeleton Curse, much as its name suggests, sees your character cursed to be a skeleton. You lose all flesh and take on the appearance of a measly skeleton, similar to the ones you find while exploring the world. No feeling comes close to terrifying an enemy crew while boarding their ship dressed up as a skeleton. This is one of the best skins in the game and one you absolutely need to unlock. How To Get the Skeleton Curse Cosmetic
The Skeleton Curse cosmetic skin in Sea of Thieves can only be acquired by undergoing the ominous Ritual of Flames. However, there are a few prerequisites you need to meet before you can undergo this ritual. Follow the steps below to prepare yourself for the Ritual of Flame:
- First, you need to be at Reputation Level 75 with the Reaper’s Bones faction and become the Reaper’s Emissary in the game. Head over to the Reaper’s Hideout, pledge allegiance, and participate in their quests to complete the first prerequisite for the Skeleton Curse cosmetic in the game.
- Once you’re a Reaper’s Emissary, you can then enter the Servants of the Flame faction. Join the faction and complete their quests to reach Reputation Level 100. Once this is done, you will have met both the prerequisites for the ritual and can proceed ahead.
Complete the aforementioned steps and enter the Reaper’s Lair in the Reaper’s Bones hideout. Here, you will find the Voice of the Flame deep within this lair. As you approach the NPC, you will be given a button prompt to “Kneel to begin the Ritual of the Flame.” Press the button, and a cutscene will play out. You will then be served a drink, which you can drink to complete the ritual and unlock the Skeleton Curse.
