Lies of P Overture comes packed with some of the most powerful and unique weapons in the game. Due to how the game’s combat system is designed, most of the weapons in Lies of P are based around close-quarters melee. You do have a few Halberd and Spear-type weapons in the game, but those still rely on you getting close to the enemy to dish out damage via the Fabled Arts.

However, with the DLC, developer Round 8 Studios has finally added a dedicated ranged option in the game: the Royal Horn Bow. As the name suggests, the Royal Horn Bow is a Shortbow that can be used to snipe enemies from a distance. Furthermore, the weapon also has access to one of the most powerful Fable Arts.

However, finding the Royal Horn Bow can be a tad difficult, since it’s not a guaranteed drop from a boss. Here’s everything you need to know about the Royal Horn Bow in Lies of P Overture and where to find it.

The Royal Horn Bow can be found fairly early in Lies of P Overture. After you start the DLC, you need to make your way to Krat Zoo. Once you arrive at the Zoo, you will reach the second Stargazer: Hall of Adventure. This is a relatively small area with a few new enemies. Explore the area and make your way to the other side of the Hall. You will eventually find an area that is being patrolled by a Carcass Mammoth.

The Carcass Mammoth is a rather tough elite enemy type and can be lethal if you fail to dodge its flurry attacks. We recommend using weapons with Fire or Shock to overpower the Mammoth and defeat it.

Once you defeat the Carcass Mammoth, make your way to the other side of the Hall. There are two paths you can take here. The first leads to the outskirts of the Zoo, and the other, on the right side of the hallway, leads you to an ambush. Make your way to the right side of the hallway and defeat the enemies there. Once all the enemies are dead, simply make your way to the end of the hallway, and you will find a treasure chest. Inside the treasure chest, you will find the Royal Horn Bow.

If you’re using a Technique build, we highly recommend equipping the Royal Horn Bow as your secondary weapon. You can unlock additional weapon slots via your P-Organ.

Royal Horn Bow’s Stats and Build Compatibility

The Royal Horn Bow is considered a Dagger-type weapon, meaning it deals Slash damage. While it doesn’t dish out as much DPS as other melee options in the game, the Royal Horn Bow is an excellent choice when it comes to dealing with smaller enemies from a distance. It’s basically the best weapon to thin the crowd, which can help you immensely during certain late-game encounters in Overture. The weapon also scales really well with Technique.

You can make it a viable Technique weapon with a Technique Crank and a dedicated build. However, we did not find the weapon particularly effective during the DLC’s boss fights.

Here are the basic stats for the Royal Horn Bow:

  • Blade Type: Dagger
  • Weapon Durability: 84
  • Weight: 7.4
  • Attack Type: Slash

Attribute Scaling

  • Motivity: D
  • Technique: B
