Learn how to open the Frog Cave in 99 Nights in the Forest using Frog Keys, the whirlpool entrance, and defeat the Frog King boss.
The Frog Cave is one of the newest dungeons in 99 Nights in the Forest, which was recently added with the Frog Invasion Update. Unlocking it requires collecting special Frog Keys and finding the whirlpool entrance that leads to the cave. Inside, you’ll battle waves of frogs and face off against the Frog King, who drops rare poison-themed loot.
In this guide, we will tell you how to collect all Frog Keys, unlock it, and clear the Frog Cave.
Steps to Open the Frog Cave in 99 Nights in the Forest
1. Wait Until Frogs Spawn
- Frogs begin appearing between Day 3 and Day 5.
- An on-screen message will say: “Something is emerging from the ponds.”
2. Obtain Frog Keys
You’ll need eight Frog Keys to unlock the cave. Keys can be collected in two ways:
- Fishing in Ponds: Use a fishing rod (found at the Fishing Shack) to fish in ponds once frogs appear. Each pond contains its own key.
- Defeating Frogs: Large blue frogs guarding ponds have a chance to drop keys, though it’s less consistent.
3. Locate the Whirlpool
- Look for a large whirlpool in any pond.
- Jump inside to teleport into the hidden Frog Cave.
4. Unlock the Door with Frog Keys
- Inside the cave, you’ll see a green door with eight keyholes.
- Place each Frog Key into the slots until the door opens.
5. Enter the Cave and Battle the Boss
- Once inside, prepare for waves of frogs followed by the Frog King.
- The Frog King can poison you, so bring poison-resistant gear and ranged weapons.
- Defeat him to claim loot such as poison armor and rare equipment.

After you have successfully cleared the room, you can now open the chest located on the left side of the room, which will give you:
- Frog-themed gear
- Poison-resistant equipment
