This trick works because the global release times for Mafia are different. Like most games, it will launch first in the New Zealand timezone. Therefore, if you want to play it early, you can use a New Zealand account. Here is how to do that for PlayStation and Xbox.
(Note: The game unlocks earlier on Steam compared to Xbox and PlayStation. So, Steam players do not need to use this trick, as they will be able to play it early anyway.)

How To Play Mafia The Old Country Early on Xbox
The process for Xbox is quite simple. First, you will need to have the game in your library. After that, follow these steps:

- Here, change your location to New Zealand. Then, simply close and restart your console.
- The new settings should take effect, and you will be able to start Mafia as soon as it unlocks, according to the New Zealand timezone.
