Capcom recently surprised Monster Hunter fans worldwide by announcing the second open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds. While a second open beta playtest was something most Monster Hunter fans were asking for, it wasn’t expected to become a reality, especially this close to the game’s release.

Much like the first Monster Hunter Wilds Beta, the second OBT will feature a brief section of the full game. However, with OBT 2, Capcom is adding a few new surprises for fans. The first of these new additions is the monster – Gypceros. Capcom has also revealed that OBT 2 will feature a few more additions, details of which will be shared close to the release date.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Beta, much like the previous playtest, will be available on all current-gen platforms. Furthermore, since it’s an “open beta,” registration isn’t required to download and play OBT 2. However, if you’re on PC, figuring out the means to download the playtest can be a bit tricky. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to play Monster Hunter Wilds Beta on Steam.

When Can You Play Monster Hunter Wilds Beta on Steam?

The second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to take place on February 6, 2025, at 7 PM PT. The first session will stay live till February 9, 2025, at 7 PM PT. The second session of OBT 2 will go live on February 13, 2025, at 7 PM PT and will stay live till February 16, 2025, at 7 PM PT.

Additionally, monsters like Balahara, Rey Dau, Doshaguma, and Gypceros will be available to hunt in the open-world mode. Furthermore, participating in OBT 2 will grant players access to an exclusive Pendant (cosmetic) in the full game.
