It gets dark, but do not be scared; it is not as confusing as it seems. PetaPeta is basically a haunted game that takes place in a haunted Japanese hotel. Like Doors, your primary goal is to survive, do tasks, and leave before the monster – PetaPeta catches you.

What’s PetaPeta About?
You start in an eerie hotel with barely any lights. It’s quiet, almost too quiet. The goal is to explore different rooms, find important items, and complete certain objectives. If you do that right, you’ll move on to the next level. The catch? There’s a monster hunting you down, and if it catches you—it’s game over.
Each level gives you a list of things to find—keys, boxes, dolls, and even a creepy room with something evil. Most levels also require you to find a talisman (called an “ofuda”), which you place in the hallway to complete the stage.
Step-by-Step: How to Play PetaPeta Roblox
Step 1:
Once you are in-game, before starting, you get to choose whether you want to play solo or play in a team of three or four. Solo games start the fastest, but playing with others can help cover more ground (and it’s less scary).
Step 2:
Learn the Objectives Every game is split into phases, and each phase has something specific you need to do.
- Phase 1: Find a key and a box. Use the key to unlock the box and grab the ofuda. Place it anywhere in the lobby, wait for the monster to come, and it gets activated, moving you to the next phase.
- Phase 2: Similar idea, but now you need a code to unlock a safe that holds the key; you need to explore around to find the code, unlock the safe, and get the key.
- Phase 3: Things get harder. PetaPeta is much faster now, and you need to stare into a creepy hole to get the code. That’s the only way you can get out of this creepy hotel. After acquiring the code, you can then go through the usual routine.
Step 3: Stay Alive. After about two minutes in each phase, PetaPeta shows up. If she finds you, she’ll chase you. You can outrun her for a bit or hide inside closets. These closets are lifesavers—she won’t go in there.
You can also carry Onigiri (rice balls) to refill stamina if you need to run and party poppers to stun her when she’s way too close.
Step 4:
Know Your Items There are a bunch of useful things in the game:
- Flashlight: Helps you see better. You can even buy a better one in the shop.
- Onigiri: Refills stamina so you can run longer.
- Party Poppers: Temporarily stun PetaPeta if she’s chasing you.
- Spray Paint: You can mark important rooms with it so you don’t get lost.
You’ll also find keys and ofuda during your run. These are needed to unlock stuff and finish the level.
Step 5:
Beat the Game. If you place the ofuda in all three phases, you win! The final phase is the hardest, so make sure to move fast and stay alert. PetaPeta becomes super quick, and one small mistake can send you back to the start.
Extra Stuff You Can Buy If you’re okay with spending a bit of in-game currency (called Zeni), the shop has some helpful extras like faster running speed, better flashlights, and revives. These make survival easier, especially in tougher stages.
Final Tip: Take it slow, always listen for sounds, and DO NOT PANIC—PetaPeta makes noises when she’s close. Once you learn her patterns and get used to the hotel’s layout, escaping gets a lot easier.
