Marvel Rivals will be released very soon, on December 6, 2024. If you plan to play Marvel Rivals on PC, you can preload the game right now from its official storefronts. Rivals is free-to-play, and it is not entirely unusual to see a f2p game allowing preloads. However, preloading is beneficial since it can save a lot of time on the actual launch day.
Note that preloading will not give you full access immediately when the game launches. You will still have to download a small patch upon Marvel Rivals’ global release that will unlock the game files on your PC. You can preload Marvel Rivals on PC from one of the two methods:
- Preload from Steam.
- Preload from the official website.

Preloading Marvel Rivals From Steam
Here are the steps that you should follow to preload Marvel Rivals on your PC from Steam:
- Open Steam and go to the Store.
- Search for Marvel Rivals and open its product page.
- Scroll down a bit and click on the Preload Game button (it will be a bright green-colored button).
Following this, the game will automatically start downloading on your PC. A desktop icon for Marvel Rivals will also be created, but you will not be able to play the game till the developers have officially launched it on December 6, 2024. The Steam preload for Marvel Rivals is a 37.7 GB download.
Preloading Marvel Rivals From the Official Website
Follow these steps to preload Marvel Rivals on PC from the official website:
- Open the official loading bay website.
- Log in using your NetEase account. You might have to create one if not previously done.
- Click on the “Get For Free” button that you can see on the right-hand side.
- Select the “Download Desktop App” option.
- Once you have downloaded and installed this desktop app, install Marvel Rivals from the app.
Make sure to check the system requirements of Marvel Rivals on PC before you preload the game to ensure you will get a smooth performance.
Can You Preload Marvel Rivals on PS5 And Xbox Consoles?
You cannot preload Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Consoles, unfortunately. If you are a console player, you will have to wait till the global launch to download the game and then play it.
However, there have been reports of Marvel Rivals preload being available on Xbox consoles, with a download size of 44.56 GB. We have not been able to verify this, and we will update this section as more information is available.
