Find out how you can execute a Sneak Attack in Monster Hunter Wilds to use the element of stealth and deal massive damage.

Stealth and Monster Hunter are not terms that you will normally see together. However, one of the new features added in Monster Hunter Wilds will let you embrace your inner Assassin to deal massive damage using stealth. Sneak Attacks are useful features that let you initiate the fight with huge numbers, immediately putting you at an advantage.
Executing Sneak Attacks are easy, but there are certain conditions that you have to meet. In this article, we will explain how you can easily do Sneak Attacks in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to Execute Sneak Attack in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Sneak Attacks utilize stealth to deal one instance of massive damage to any monster in Monster Hunter Wilds. Generally, this is the gameplay loop that you should follow to successfully execute a Sneak Attack on a monster:
- Walk up to it without attacking anything else. Preferably use the Ghillie Mantle while approaching.
- Don’t attack it with your weapon combos.
- Get as close to the monster till you see a prompt on your screen for the Sneak Attack.
A successful Sneak Attack deals around 300 damage to all monsters, irrespective of the weapon that you are using. Ideally, you should try to begin all fights with a Ghillie Mantle and a Sneak Attack. Note that the effects of the Ghillie Mantle will wear out the moment you successfully execute the Sneak Attack in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Things to Keep in Mind For Sneak Attacks in Monster Hunter Wilds
There are also some additional pointers that you need to keep in mind while trying to do a Sneak Attack:
- The monster need not be absolutely still. It can be fighting another monster as well, but it should not be target locked at you.
- There seems to be an internal timer between two successive Sneak Attacks in the game.
- Normally, you can always Sneak Attack on a monster after it has relocated to a different area.
- If a monster is fighting while you approach it to Sneak Attack, make sure to not get hit by any of the monster’s attacks. This will prevent you from doing a Sneak Attack.
In our playthrough at Deltia’s Gaming, the maximum times we have managed to Sneak Attack a monster is thrice. If you are in a multiplayer hunt and have the maximum number of Sneak Attacks, you will get the “Assassin” title at the end of the hunt.
