Everything you need to know about Lies of P’s Overture DLC, including how to start it, story progress requirements, bosses, and more.

Lies of P’s highly anticipated Overture DLC is now available across all platforms. Much like Hi-Fi Rush and Ninja Gaiden Black before it, Lies of P Overture was shadow-dropped following the recently released gameplay trailer during Summer Game Fest 2025. Surprisingly enough, the DLC isn’t relegated to a side mission. Instead, taking notes from Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Overture features a whole new map with roughly the same amount of content as the base game.
The expansion comes with a host of new weapons, outfits, and, most importantly, bosses for you to discover and fight. But before you can do so, you need to start the DLC itself. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to start Lies of P’s Overture DLC, including details on its requirements and more.
Requirements for Lies of P Overture DLC

Similar to FromSoftware’s Souls games, Lies of P only allows you to play the DLC after you’ve made a considerable amount of progress in the base game. Essentially, you need to have completed Chapter 9 to start the expansion. You can also start the expansion on a save where you’ve reached the end and defeated either Simon Manus or the Nameless Puppet.
Do note that the same requirements apply to New Game+ saves as well. You need to progress past Chapter 9 to start the DLC. Once you reach Chapter 10 and head back to the Krat Hotel, you will receive an item called Star’s Chrysalis. Once you have the Star’s Chrysalis, you can start the DLC.
From there, head back to the Path of the Pilgrim to get a new cutscene that teleports you to Overture.
How To Start Lies of P Overture

To start Lies of P Overture, you need to have completed Chapter 9 and defeated the Corrupted Parade Master. Ideally, reaching that point in the story takes roughly 10 to 15 hours. However, if you’re on New Game+, you can speed up the process significantly. Furthermore, you can also turn down the difficulty to get through the base game much faster. Changing the difficulty does not affect achievements or trophies. Additionally, you can change the difficulty anytime during gameplay, as long as you are out of combat.
Do note that changing the difficulty will force you to restart your last checkpoint. However, doing so won’t cost you Ergo.
Here are the steps to start the Lies of P Overture DLC:
- Make sure you have the DLC purchased and installed.
- Make sure you have the latest version of the game installed on your PC or console.
- Complete Chapter 9, and defeat the Corrupted Parade Master.
- At the start of Chapter 10, after you repair the Stargazer in Hotel Krat, you will receive the Star’s Chrysalis.
- With the Stars Chrysalis in your inventory, head to Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer to start the DLC.
