How To Use Weapon Sets in Path of Exile 2
Where To Equip Primary and Secondary Weapons
Before anything else, you will need to add a secondary weapon to your character inventory. Open the menu and you will see Roman numerals I and II on both sides of your equipment screen. Those are weapon slots and will be used when you swap weapon sets by casting the Toggle Weapon Set skill. This skill will be made available at the start of the game.
Keep in mind that a two-handed weapon will occupy both the right and left slots of a weapon set. This means you can’t equip a two-handed weapon on both your main and off-hand.
How To Toggle Weapon Sets
To swap between weapons in Path of Exile 2, use the Toggle Weapon Set ability. You can also bind this to a hotkey to make the swapping seamless:
- Open your inventory and head to the skill panel menu.
- Select Open Bind Screen located at the bottom of the screen.
- Find the “Toggle Weapon Set” and bind it to an unoccupied hot bar.
The “Toggle Weapon Set” does not cost anything to use. The weapon you equip after swapping your weapon set will also change your basic attack. It will stay that way until you replace the weapon or swap it with another weapon set.
How To Use Raise Shield Without Using Offhand in Path of Exile 2
If you’re in a non-martial class, there is a trick to still be able to use a shield in your off-hand. Simply equip a shield on the second weapon set (II) and bind the Raise Shield skill in a hot bar. Casting the skill will automatically swap to your second weapon set and equip your shield. You don’t need to press the Toggle Weapon Set skill just to use a shield.
However, keep in mind that you still need to meet the right STR requirement to equip a shield. Having a shield can be handy for a lot of situations. You can never have enough defensive options in this game, especially against tough enemies. Even if it’s just a low-level shield, you can just quip it, just in case you need one to tank some damage.
