Goku has three Sparking Episodes Side by Side, Pushing the Limit, and The Changing Future in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and here is how to unlock them.
The new action fighting game Dragon Ball Sparking Zero features around 182 playable characters. Developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game follows a unique story mode. The Episode Battle mode narrates the storyline with eight major characters from the franchise such as Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Jiren, Future Trunks, Goku Black, and Frieza.
The brilliance lies in the concept of ‘What-if’ implemented in the canon storyline, where the narration breaks into several branches based on the player’s choices. These branching paths are termed as Sparking Episodes.

Goku’s Sparking Episodes in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
There are multiple Sparking Episodes in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and Goku has three among them. They are;
- Side by Side
- Pushing the Limit
- The Changing Future
How to Unlock Side by Side – Goku’s Sparking Episode
Since Goku is the first character you start with in Episode Battle, you’re most likely to encounter the first sparking episode of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero in his saga. His first Sparking Episode Side by Side can be unlocked by choosing to go alone during The Earth’s Mightiest Duo?! episode in Chapter 1. In addition to that you have to defeat Raditz, within a certain time limit in Raditz vs. The Turtle School episode. So, try to beat Raditz in the quickest way possible to unlock Goku’s first Sparking Episode ‘Side by Side’.
How to Unlock Pushing the Limit – Goku’s Sparking Episode
The Sparking Episode ‘Pushing the Limit’ can also be unlocked during Chapter 1. When provided with the options of going alone or joining hands with Piccolo in “The Earth’s Mightiest Duo” episode, choose to work with Piccolo in the fight against Raditz. Then, defeat Raditz as quickly as possible in the Rematch and Result episode. This unlocks the Pushing the Limit Sparking Episode in Goku’s saga.
How to Unlock The Changing Future – Goku’s Sparking Episode
The Changing Future, the third and final Sparkling Episode of Goku, can be unlocked during the Cell Arc in Chapter 3. Choosing the option of going and helping Piccolo in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber mission unlocks Goku’s final Sparking Episode ‘The Changing Future’. You need to be careful when fighting against Cell, as getting hit by the Solar Flare Attack will redirect you to the original canon storyline.
