Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a JRPG where players experience the journey of Cloud with his friends. The game is a sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake and continues the adventure just when Cloud escapes from the dystopian city of Midgar.
Aside from the great story, the game also has many playable characters that can be switched mid-battle. One of the most popular characters from the original game is Vincent Valentine. Though he is not a playable character, he eventually joins the player’s party as the story progresses.
In this guide, we will learn how to unlock Vincent Valentine as a party member in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
How To Unlock Vincent
It is sad that a fan-favorite character, loved by almost everyone, is not playable. However, Vincent can join the party in Chapter 11: The Long Shadow of Shinra. Go underground in the Shinra Manor and look for a room near a giant pit while defeating enemies along the way. A cutscene will be played as the player enters the room. During the cutscene, Vincent gets introduced to the player.
After that, players have to fight Vincent in his Galian beast form. After a long battle, Vincent gets asked to join the party of Cat Sith, but he rejects the proposal. However, as the chapter ends, Vincent joins the party as they leave. There is a slight possibility that players might get to play as Vincent in the third installment of the series, but as for now, they can only add him to the party.
Who is Vincent Valentine?
Vincent is a self-proclaimed security guard whose first appearance was in the 1997 Final Fantasy VII. This man appears to be in his late twenties with black hair and red eyes. Vincent had a dark past, from serving Turks to getting shot in the chest by Hojo.
He was subjected to experiments that enhanced the human body, which ultimately let him turn into a Galian beast. To atone for his sins, Vincent locks himself in a coffin in the basement of Shinra Manor. After twenty years, Cloud and his party wake him up while exploring the manor and he joins Cloud’s party at the end of Chapter 11.
