Donkey Kong Bananza is now available to play on Nintendo Switch 2, with one update live as well. Here’s how to download it.
The first update for Donkey Kong Bananza is finally available. The game was released on July 17, 2025, with its first update rolled out on the same day as well. As part of this update, GameShare was made available for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Donkey Kong Bananza: How To Update Manually
The latest update of Donkey Kong Bananza will download and install automatically when you launch the title. However, if by any chance this does not happen automatically, here is how you can do it manually:
- Make sure that your console is connected to the internet. Either connect it using wifi or using the Ethernet cable in docked mode.
- Now, go to the Home Menu and hover over DKB’s game icon.
- Press the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ button on your Joy-Con or Pro Controller. This will open up a menu. In this menu, the title name will be the game’s version number.
- If it is not on v1.1.0 already, go to the ‘Software Update’ option and press ‘A.’
- Now, select ‘Over the Internet.’ Your update will start downloading. After that, press the Home Button on the right Joy-Con and launch Donkey Kong Bananza.

- You can now select “GameShare with people nearby” or “GameShare via GameChat” from the “Play with two people” option in the pause menu.
- Several issues have been fixed to improve the gameplay experience.

GameShare is a newly introduced feature from Nintendo. Using this option, you can share your copy of the game with your friends and family. You do not need to buy multiple copies of the game if you are in the same house. Using GameShare, your family member can also play Donkey Kong Bananza without buying a separate copy. Moreover, you can share the game with Switch 1 users as well.
