Marvel Rivals is all about player expression and freedom. The game offers a massive roster of 33 characters at launch, all with varying personalities, looks, and playstyles to ensure that you find the one that fits you best. The game goes beyond that and allows you to express your personality and flair further through the use of sprays and emotes in matches. Sprays are purely cosmetic items that you can paint on any surface throughout a match. Do not worry; there are no pay-to-win schemes involved with the use of sprays, as they offer no player advantage and are purely a form of expression. In this guide, we shall go over how to use spray and express yourself in Marvel Rivals.
How To Equip Spray
Before you begin painting the map all over with sprays, you have to equip the spray. Equipping spray is a simple procedure that you can do by following the steps below:
- Boot up the game and head to the main menu.
- Here, go to the ‘Heroes’ tab at the top and click on it. This is the third tab from the left.
- You will have the option to click on the ‘Heroes’ or ‘Team-Ups’ sub-tab next. Click on the ‘Heroes’ sub-tab.
- Now, you can scroll through the entire roster of playable heroes. Click on the hero you wish to equip the spray on to open their ‘Hero Profile.’
- Click on the ‘Cosmetics’ tab. This is the second tab from the left.
- Doing so will present you with the various cosmetic options in the game. You can customize the costumes, the emotes, the spray, and the MVP animations. Click on the ‘Sprays’ option.
- This will open up the selection of sprays available to you. Select the spray you wish to apply and click on ‘Equip.’ If you don’t have the spray unlocked, the option will read ‘Acquire’ instead of ‘Equip.’ You can then see the conditions to acquire the same.
How To Use Spray
Once you’ve cycled through the cosmetics and equipped the spray that reflects and expresses you best, you can then head in-game to apply it all around. You can use the spray by following the steps below:
- Queue into a match and go wherever you wish to apply the spray.
- Aim at the point where you wish to use the spray.
- Press and hold T (the spray keybind by default) to bring up the Spray wheel. This wheel will allow you to pick from your equipped selection of sprays.
- Release T to apply the spray to the surface you’re pointing at.
