Phasmophobia throws you into dark, horrifying settings plagued with hostile supernatural entities. As you explore the game’s various haunted locations in search of supernatural evidence, you may have come across a creepy doll. This creepy Voodoo Doll may seem absolutely useless at first glance, seemingly just there to enhance the creepiness of the location.
However, this doll can be used for a bunch of stuff, something the game does not tell you about. If you’ve stumbled across this doll in your playthrough and were left confused and unsure, we’re here to clear all doubt. In this guide, we shall go over how to use Voodoo Dolls in Phasmophobia.
How To Use Voodoo Dolls?
To make things clear first, the chances of you coming across a Voodoo Doll are very rare. This item has a 1 in 7 chance to appear in the mission, and even then can be missed amidst all the chaos that ensues. If you do stumble across the doll, however, there are a variety of things you can do with it.
The first, and perhaps the most materialistic thing that you can do with the doll, is use it for money. Simply pull out your camera and click a photograph of the doll to earn $5 and 5 XP. This, however, is purely monetary and does not affect the gameplay in any way.
Interacting With the Voodoo Doll
The other thing you can do with the Voodoo Doll is interact with it. Pick up the doll and hold it in your hand. When the doll is up close, you will notice that it has 10 pins pinned onto its body. Press the ‘Use’ button to push a pin into the doll’s body.
Pushing the pins inside forces a ghost interaction, which then gives you the chance to capture evidence. This is especially useful if the ghost is passive and provides no opportunities to click photographs. Note that pressing the pins drops your Sanity by five percent each time. Make sure you’re stocked up on pills before you interact with the doll.
When pressing in the pins, you have to be careful of the pin aimed at the heart. If you push in the heart pin, it drops your Sanity by 10 percent and triggers a cursed hunt. The ghost then turns fully hostile and will hunt you down across the map to kill you. A cursed hunt is also triggered if your Sanity drops to zero while interacting with the doll.
