This guide explains how you can use the Gift-O-Matic in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Find out what it does.
In The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, you play as a high schooler who must interact with a wide range of characters in the Academy. Improving your relationships with them can help unlock better upgrades for each teammate, while also raising your subject grades in the Report Card. Offering these characters special gifts is a great way to build up a relationship with them quickly.
However, apart from buying gifts, you can also craft special ones for them. This is where the Gift-o-Matic in The Hundred Line: Defense Academy comes into play.
What Is the Gift-o-Matic in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy?
The Gift-o-Matic is a special contraption that you unlock at the start of Day 010. You will gain access to the Rec Room, where Eito will be waiting to have a chat about the Gift-o-Matic. This machine can help you craft certain gifts by using different resources and Battle Points. When you get access to the machine, there’ll be a few gift recipes already unlocked. If you have enough materials at hand, you can craft these.
However, the more complicated or rarer recipes will remain locked at first. You will need to acquire certain specific materials to unlock these. You can check what materials you need to unlock each recipe inside the Gift-o-Matic menu.
Before fabricating a gift for a particular teammate, make sure you go through what they like and dislike using their Report Card menu. You should always try to match the gift you are offering to a character with what they find appealing.
You can find rare resources to unlock more recipes in the Treasure squares of the Expedition Boards. Landing on these squares is a good way to unlock the best gift recipes early on.

How To Use the Gift-o-Matic in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy?
There are several uses of gift-giving in the game. Here are some reasons why you need to give gifts to your teammates at the academy:
- Persuading them to fight by your side: You will need to craft specific gift items using the Gift-o-Matic when undertaking persuasion missions. Completing these missions will help you recruit new teammates in your fight against your foes. The game will tell you when the persuasion missions occur and the space that you have to reach to unlock the gift to clear these specific missions.
- Advancing time: Crafting a gift for someone will lead you to automatically give it to that character. This will also consume one whole Free Time slot. So, if you’re looking to advance time while doing something productive, gifting can be a great way to do that.
- Improve your grades: Depending on the gift you give to a teammate and their response to it, you’ll earn grade points across the five main subjects. If a character loves your gift, you’ll get 30 grade points. If they like the gift, you’ll receive 10 points. Disliked gifts don’t earn you any grade points.
Resources are limited in the game. So, make sure you learn what a teammate likes before making a gift for them. Otherwise, your progress in grades might slow down considerably.
